  1. Thanks for the reply...i really want to keep the car standard so am after either oem or equivalent aftermarket as opposed to a performance aftermarket. The deciding factor as is usually the case will be budget though...

Anyone tried a Longlife or similar custom built job?? I imagine they can provide replacement systems which use same bore pipe etc.

  2. Hi guys,

I have been thinking about getting some dedicated winter wheels and tyres and wanted to know if the OE 17" wheels will fit over the Brembo brake calipers? I have a feeling they were equipped on lesser specc'd variants/imports although i may be wrong?

    Thanks in advance :)

  3. Without wanting to start another thread, I've got a front end knocking issue on the drivers side and it's not when I go on gravely road or over multiple bumps, but when I brake and release. When I'm coming to a stop, whilst I brake, nothing, when I've stopped and let off the brake I get a single clunking noise. Any idea what it is?

It does occur going slowly on to my drive but I've noticed it nearly every time I've used the brakes today, even if I've not come to a standstill.

Could be your steering rack - i had a similar issue with noise when coming to a stop and the car clunking like something was loose at the front end. Check the rack for play shake the wheel back and forth when statioanry and see if you get a clunking. If so you could be needing a new rack. obviously check all track rod ends and inner bjoints first.

  4. Ok thanks guys, i thought the oe specs were bridgestones but wanted to double check.

I will be sticking with 050As as the 40s seem hard to come by...i am of the opinion the designers of the car designed and developed the handling characteristics using a specific tyre compound and i dont want to mess with that.

  5. I have just been doing a few seraches to find what the OE tyres would have been on my car when it rolled off the production line...does anyone know with 100% certainty??

According to Evo magazines buyers guide 350Z's were shod with Bridgestone S02 tyres in 225/45/18 FR 245/45/18 RR.

I currently have Bridgestone RE050A tyres on front and rear in the above sizes...which i thought were the OE tyres?

    Thanks in advance

  6. Hi guys i have just noticed my ESP OFF light is not going out after startup and also the Slip or skid light is constantly illuminated when driving.? Any ideas what could be up iv only had the car since yesterday!!

The front brakes look quite worn and ready for changing could it be to do with this or will anything show up from the OBD if i plug in my reader? Im guessing not as the MIL light isnt on.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  7. Hi mate, I will most likely be going to JF this year from Bicester area so a bit south of you. Should be going with a few guys hopefully - RX7 or 8 , P1 Impreza, and Celica TSport. Have gone for the last few yrs and will be going this yr as long as the weather is good (needed the sun cream last couple yrs!)

  8. Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here, I am now the proud owner of a 2004 350Z GT coupe in blue, and am already addicted!! I am presently doing the old look out the window and pinch myself just to make sure im not imagining whats sat outside on my drive! :yahoo:

I had been looking for months for the right car and when this one came up I new i was going to have to have it! Will post up some pics asap.

Couple things i think im going to have to get done in the near future - front discs and pads need changing soonish, the drive belts look a tad shiny/brown and i think may be on their last legs, and the stereo is a bit skippy (i havnt heard of one that isnt mind you!).

Anyway look forward to getting more familiar with people on here and to many miles of pleasure out of the Zed!
