Hey, my drivers side electric seat switch has packed in, so I need a replacement.

Does anyone have one for sale or know where I can get hold of one? Who's the best trader to contact that may be able to source?

Dear Track day affectionados,

Heard of this through a friend. Basically his friend (Driver A) had an accident on a track day and the other parties (Driver insurance chased after him for costs. It has been through the courts and driver A has now been ordered to pay 21k in the next 14 days. This is basically going to bankrupt him. If this is the way track days are going it is very worrying as anyone doing a trackday won't only have to take the risk of his own car been smashed up but also potentially a brand new ferrari having to be paid for. Be aware!!

Theres loads of Zeds in Ely / Soham. There is also a stunning azure Zed that pops out at the weekend. I believe there is also a black Zed that works in Soham since we wave at each other at least twice a week on my way home (he is leaving Soham). Mines the graphite with black CF roof and blingy wheels.

I think my mind got made up when I rang a garage to ask what px they would offer me. 5.5k you must be joking. I will end up getting more debt to change, I was hoping almost straight swap. So I think the plan now is hold out until Sept when I get a payrise, then in Feb my loan is paid off. Any short comings I have a couple of grand saved up. After Feb should be plain sailing.

At least this way I get to keep the Zed, and as it is so sh-it re-sale I'll just run it into the ground over the next 5 years or so. They last ages anyway, how many miles has SMDs done now?

After that I'm sure the 370 will be a bit cheaper as well. Pray I never leave a Zed

What must it have/do? The three you mention are wildly different, so if you can narrow it down to must haves and mustn't haves, it can often make life a lot easier.

Well, in importance:

- It must have some poke about it. 8 secs ish 0-60. I don't want something that will feel stupidly slow compared to the Zed

- I don't want / need a big car so A4 / passat etc are out (also why the BMW is last on that list)

- Service price doesn't matter as much as my best mate is a mechanic, plus as he's a mechanic I can't have anything french or italian as he will refuse to work on it.

I had a Leon before so am leaning towards that at the moment. Plus this DPF workaround and re-map sounds a lot of fun.

Yeah, I've think I've resigned to the fact that it won't be anywhere near as fun as the Zed .

Just trying to find a car that I will still enjoy but cost me less.

Unfortunetly after 18 months of ownership I think it's finally time to get rid of the Zed , it is quickly bankrupting me!! Especially when I know insurance and tax is coming up in Feb and I have no way of paying it, and it is in the middle of the boarding season (my other major love)

The problem is what to go for next, budget is approx 7 to 9k. I'm after a quickish diesel (around 7 secs), not too big though. Ideas so far:

BMW 330d M Sport (Missus described it as a drug dealer car though!)

Seat Leon FR

Volvo C30 D5 R-Design

Any other cars I should be looking at? Help is gratefully received.

You're meant to go over them with a hairdryer, this activates the glue and stops them from peeling off. Last night I didn't do this as I weren't sure if I was going to keep them on.

Interesting mod, quite like but for me the facelift LEDs are the best looking mod for older Zeds

I agree with you there, its just getting hold of the funds. Doing this was significantly cheaper!!!

I quite like it as you have a black roof and spoiler. What about your indicator clusters?

I'm not going to change the indicator clusters, unless it was to remove the red from the fog light completly (slightly scared to put the cluster in the oven though). I didn't darkern the lights to make the car more 'stealth' as I don't like that look. I only wanted to tone the red down slightly, hence whether I like the mod or not. If I could get hold of some decent looking (ie not chavvy) clear rear lights I'd have them.

But as the poll is so in favour of keeping them on, I'm setting them tonight.

So applied a flyeyes kit to my car today and I'm not sure if it looks or not. I haven't set the glue yet so its still easy to remove. All opinions welcome

And in case anyone wonders what it is exactly I think this shows it quite well

I have my roof and spoiler wrapped in carbon fibre (I know not exactly matt black but same idea ) I think it looks pretty good though. I'm also in the process of wrapping the front bumper lip, haven't seen the wing mirrors done though.
