My understanding was that it was the airbag that was the main problem of carrying a child under 12 in Z front seat,i of course could be wrong !!

That was my original understanding as well but having read into it the seat is far enough back that the airbag is not a problem with a front facing car seat.

  2. My wife has been prodding me to look into getting a 4 seater as my eldest is about to start primary school in September but reading around it seems a number of people use child seats in the 350z without issue...so in a bid to keep hold of my car a bit longer can anyone recommend any car seats currently available which fit securely in the Z?

  3. Got it booked in tomorrow under insurance, seperate quote was £280 + VAT which was cheaper than expected but still enough to make me decide to use my cover. Crack has developed nicely (probably not the word) & pretty much doubled in size now. Hopefully it will all go smoothly tomorrow.

  4. Honestly, speak to your insurers. They'll advise what you need to do. I've never heard of someone having to provide their own bits for the fitter.

I have done & have the number to call for their preferred fitter, just getting a seperate quote to see how much to do it outside of insurance but suspect I will be going with it. I similarly hadn't heard of needing to provide any parts for the fitter before this thread, has got me a bit concerned.

  5. Replaced mine after it got hit by a large stone, just in my line of vision, so MOT failure and they are not allowed to repair it here. Lots of panels to be removed, starting with the B pillar. Note the A pillar trim has about 8 screws hidden underneath the door rubber, and does not just pull off. Also you will need to get a top windscreen rubber trim yourself for them to re-fit, as not included in the re-fit.

Did mine through my insurance so I only paid £80, but had to wait 12 days for it to be in stock.

    ...added pic.

Can they not re-use the existing trim? Had a quick look around but only thing I found suggested these do not come at all cheap :o ([76860Q] GLASS RUN-BODY SIDE,FRONT) http://www.courtesyparts.com/350z-parts-z33-2003-2008/genuine-nissan-parts/body-side-rear/766-body-side-moulding/-c-714_715_846_848.html

  6. Yeah I managed to get through to Sky to confirm & they did say it would need to be noted. Given non fault claims increase your premium I am dubious this wouldn't end up surrupticiously loading my next one potentially :(

Can I offset that against potential Curly Wurly gains I wonder ;)

I appreciate the offer Ekona but feel free to donate one or two to charity instead :D

  7. Just noticed this morning that there is a crack in my windscreen from the bottom of the screen roughly centre positioned which is about 15-20 cm long. Having had a very quick look around about best to go with insurance/private there were some mixed answers as many were saying a repair/replacement still counts as a claim so will hike up your insuance full stop upon renewal for years after. On here I have seen various estimates of private costs...all of them high which suggests insurance may be the way to go.

Anyone have any thoughts/experience of this. I have fully comp insurance via sky but cannot remember the name of the underwriter if that matters.

  8. Hello General and Ogman.

Yep, still making them (although production is limited this time of year).

    Thanks, Ian

I would just like to say thank you oh so much for mine especially given the time of year. As I understand it my fiancé got in touch hoping without much likelihood to get one for me by Christmas & you went out of the way to get it done for her/me. I have been after one of these for years but refused to pay silly high ebay prices & after seeing this thread about a year & half ago I ended up being stubborn & just leaving it on my Xmas/birthday 'list' rather than getting one myself. Came as a total surprise this morning & the quality is absolutely top notch. Will be popping it in the Z tomorrow but just wanted to say thanks & Merry Christmas :)

    Cheers,

    Adam.

  9. Grrrr...stopped working again, this time checked without any connector & nothing is coming out of the tubing. Searching here suggests either a fuse or a new pump...I cannot see anywhere there has stated which fuse needs checking however, does anyone know (will need a dummies guide). Given the Game of Thrones message that winter is coming is appearing to be true I think I will need these working sooner rather than later given the salt that will coat my windscreen in short order given the miles I am doing.

  10. Front wipers aren't getting any water through to them despite the rear ones working. Quick search on here & then one of my first plays around under the bonnet & it looks like the non return valve is kaput (only a tiny amount of liquid comes out when activated). Popped along to my nearest Halfords to get a new one to discover they no longer do them. Having now looked online there appear to be values for both 4mm & 5mm tubing...anyone know which I need?

  11. Hi guys, quick question having done a search & failed miserably to find the answer :D

The rubber on the end of the passenger side blade & the rear blade are starting to come away (about 2 inches kind flaps away from the blade as it is activated) so I need to replace them & figured I may as well do the whole set. I believe the passenger & rear are both 18" blades & the driver side is 20", is that correct?

What blades are recommended and are there any places recommended to get them from that would deliver quickly? I looked on demon tweeks following a search on here (http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/wiper-blades/piaa-silicone-wiper-blade and also at the Bosch aerotwin ones as I keep seeing them mentioned just in general) but in ordering it then asks if I want curved, spoiler or standard. I have no idea which I would want?

Of course if I can just pop to halfords I can do that but I fancy having something decent.
