  1. Cheers guys, glad you all enjoyed yourselves. Sorry to hear about your motor Grundy.

Our Z seems to be fine, I had oil temps of 103-105 after only one semi-hot lap, which is ludicrous and simply should not be the case. As Rose says, not a single whisp of smoke all the way home, even under boost. I suspect it's just nackered oil that I really should have changed as planned, before the event.

  2. For what it's worth, we had 2 subarus, a pulsar and I think it was an ASTRA of all things, on the Japfest2 stand. They all sat down the bottom of the stand out of the way and the Z stand integrity was not harmed :) At the end of the day, the stand is organised by us for Zs, but if we can't fill it up with Zs for whatever reason (People going on trade stands, show n shine, engines blown up, realised they're on holiday, etc.) then a little bit of stand filling isn't going to hurt anyone. :)

In principal though I agree, the stand is primarily for Zs and this is why we try to keep tight control over who has stand passes.

  3. Yes, we will be meeting at the Northampton services, on the M1 (Junc 15A) on the Northbound side (The A43 goes under the M1 connecting the two services for those of us coming Southbound). We will begin meeting at 6:30, with a view to leave the services at 7am, this should get us to Silverstone for 7:30am at the latest, which hopefully will avoid the majority of the queues and get us on the stand in time to get set up before they open the gates. As usual with these events, if you're not on the stand by 9am, they will not let you drive in.

  4. Stand passes are free and issued by us on a 'need' basis mate. If you need it (I.e. you're coming on the stand) then it's yours, as you've booked to come on the stand. If you don't need it (I.e. Anthony from SFS has sent you a stand pass for the top 20) then we re-allocate it. Your ticket is something entirely different, if Anthony also sends you a free ticket to get in, you are free to sell your ticket to who you like, just let us know who you sold it to, so we can give it to them. :)

  5. You don't need to buy the stand pass, as that comes free when we order the tickets, we just can't get any more of them, or any more tickets. You need both a ticket and a stand pass to get your car on the stand, if the stand pass I have spare is available, that's free, you just need to buy your ticket to get in, either online now, or on the gate on the day.

  6. The only time my wheels have ever looked that angled, was when an upper camber arm snapped on me on a Belgian motorway. This was not fun and I really don't understand why anyone would spend money to repeat it. I also know of 3 cars that have been destroyed by this craze, because whilst some people who do it are actually responsible and use different set ups for shows than day to day driving, i.e. different wheels, ride-heights etc. many of them still think they can drive around at or above the speed limit and take corners quickly, when in reality their tyres are barely sealed to the rim and there's only the tiniest bit of tyre touching the road.

  7. Well unfortunately I have some bad news to share with you all. It seems the organisers of the event just cannot seem to 'organise' this event without hitches. We were sent the tickets and stand passes a few weeks ago as you're all aware and we were sent stand passes for the P2 area, which is what we had been hoping for, it's why we had organised it all so early and encouraged everyone to pay up ASAP in order to get that order in quickly and secure a decent stand spot. Anyway, today we have been able to see the published stand arrangements and it seems they have stuffed things up again (They made similar screw ups last year) and we are not in fact in P2, we are in P3. It's not the end of the world, but it does put us in the gravel area, rather than on the tarmac and it isn't what we'd planned for. It also means anyone who has had their stand passes sent to them (Thankfully only a couple of people) will have the incorrect stand pass and will likely be directed to the P2 area, when the stand is in P3. We are being sent new stand passes via the post, so we can only hope that they turn up this week, in tact (Two years running now the tickets and stand passes have turned up in envelopes that have been ripped open at some point during their postal journey), else we may have a similar situation to last year on our hands, having to obtain the stand passes at the gate.
