wonder if your using high octaine fuel this could make a big difference i had this with my other car using normal fuel sounded terrible but now i use high octaine in both my 350Z and my other car worked for me hope this helps oh also welcome and enjoy your motor

I can honestly say i have had loads and loads of people commenting how n ice my car is not one negative comment... short story i took my girlfriend to see some absolutely mint vintage wedding cars yesterday which where fantastic clean tidy all you would expect Rolls Roce Benntly etc well over 25 years old to have the owner saying wow really nice car over and over to the point of suggesting that we should put some ribbons on it for the wedding day for me to turn up in lmao how ironic turn up for your wedding in your own motor maybe i will

getting my z back tomorrow not excited apprehensive had a bad experience really want to enjoy it only owned it 23 days had it for 6 of those not too good so far not blaming the car i was buzzing initially

My discs got warped on my old car because it was never driven and although not cheap they weren't expensive either

thanks the car had after market brakes but yeh its not done a lot of miles in the last year or so

Warped discs is not always caused by the car been driven hard.

iam a pooly myself lexx you helped me before when this problem started i expect you remember had a right carry on getting it resolved hope your correct and my car is ok its kind of spoilt the whole new car buzz well you know

OK only owned my 350Z 23 days unfortunately after 6 it was back to the garage because of dtv (warped rotors) i noticed after a few days the car was shuddering slightly under braking.

The work has beeen carried out now and i will be picking it up tomorrow its a 04 silverstone grey GT only 40k miles obviously im thinking the car has been driven hard by the previous owner .

my question is can the gear box / clutch / engine etc take a lot of " hammering" for want of a better word because i have no hope of a refund and really want to start enjoying the car in the future.

Having a bad experiance at the moment only purchased my vehicle a litttle over a week ago not having any mechanical skills appart from kicking tyres and looking for rust spots dents etc which is about my limit.

I unfortunately after a short period of time realised the vehicle is shuddering slightly under breaking which was not so obvious initially and making a slight noise like friction on the brakes looking into it i joined this particular forum to access help with experts on 350z obviously the owners know best and i was correct i was amazed how helpful the members of this forum are and knowledgable too the problem was diagnosed as warped discs in no time .

i then asked a friend to drive the vehicle who has a better understanding of cars than i who also aggreed warped discs at this point i called the dealer and took the car for inspection they offered to clean up the brakes at a later date and i aggreed .

after getting home i decided to take the car for an inspection to cover my back on inspection the discs are worn and terribly grooved and to my horror the mechanic also pointed out the tyres where in terrible state too and that the vehicle was in his opinion not road worthy and should not be driven .

obviously i challanged the dealer and they for some reason decided to be well not so helpful i dont want to name people or companies at this stage until the matter is resolved but i will most definately post here if it is not resolved to my what i see as fair conclusion...MY Z EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN RUINED !!!!!

Their aftersales is shocking, be prepared to have to fight the case with them.

no i bought the car near newcastle i imagine i will have a fight on my hands so ill let the wife sort it no we only had the car 6 days now so i cant see what argument they could have thanks for your help any way

been to a friends garage today he tested my discs foc and unfortunately the discs are actually slightly warped so my partner and i have decided to go back to the dealer asap while we still have a guarantee thanks for the help i hope you recieve this message before tuesday evening as you have been excellent and extreamly helpful i would have liked to have seen your super hero costume cheers again for the help lads...

I too have just purchased my 350Z a mear 5 days ago and if my opinion is worth any salt i would have been far too busy looking good to waste time on a TT driver

yeh 7pm this tuesday would be great i dont want to put you out but thanks for the help ill be their 7 sharp maybe you can shed some light on it for me been back out in the car loving it seams a little better the car had been idle for a while and i think maybe could have been rust on the discs because they appear to be in good nick but like i say im no car expert...look forward to tuesday cheers

Yes do go back to the seller, did you buy it private or through a dealer?

 

I had a noise from the front which got quicker as I sped up, turned out to be the metal cover around the back of the brake disc. It had gotten a little bent and was making contact with the disc. Quick grab of it and bent it back a smidgen and noise gone.

 

Best thing is take it back, if no joy with that route get the car up on a jack, take the wheel off and get the disc and hub spinning see where the noise is coming from. As I say I thought mine was a warped disc turned out to be a metal plate just slightly out of line and a very cheap and simple fix

the thing is the car is under warrenty so i know they will fob me off and ive only had it 4 days

that makes sence a freind of mine who has more of an idea about cars than me suggested that the discs could be warped cheers manphibian

I had the same worries the GT pack has Bose stereo with a large speaker behind the driver seat, electric and heated leather seats and cruise control as far as i know im only new here but i try to research my cars before i purchase them hope this helps some

the breaks are brembo and i do seem to have some kind of slight shudder when breaking forgive me what is DTV ?

Hi all just a quick question only purchased my 350Z 4 days ago and im still in that awkward hear every noise smell every smell period and my partner pointed out a noise from the car. from my point of view in the driver seat it sounds like its coming from the passanger side rear wheel its a slite ticking sound which increases with my speed and obviously decreases when i slow down .... imagine if their where something stuck on the tyre at a certain point and every time it touches the ground it makes a sound well its sort of like that on inspection their is no sign of affor said and the tyres at the rear are both brand spanking. im not a mechanic but im ok with basic problems . so any ideas would be welcome please. my Z is an 2004 GT pack the coulour is silverstone not that that matters i know that much but i fealt for some reason i should share it with you thanks in advance stivvy.....
