  1. SOLD!!!!!! and it is with great pleasure that this superb car is going to a member on this forum. I will let him choose if/when to reveal :)

This forum has been a great source of Knowledge especially with regard to what mods to choose and I must say a big thank-you to Mitz and Andy at CS for the work they have done on my car.

Time for rear seats and a BMW M135i at the end of May! :teeth:

    Cheers,

    Scotty

  2. If you want an independent in the midlands then CS (Cougar Store) is the place to go. First class customer service with a vast amount of experience with regard to Z cars and all at decent prices.

  3. Lowered and spacers makes a massive difference

Mine has 25 mm spacers front and rear Luke

fangs and rear valance blacked and red calipers

    Totally agree. Lowering+spacers=low cost+big difference.

  4. I've always bought my cars cash and tried to negotiate a good deal. Regarding the trade-in they would not take into account the quality of the mods on my car and the last thing I want to do is start removing them. Thing is my 370Z is so mint I'm sure whoever views it will want it and hopefully it will be someone on this forum.

  5. Sounds like my 370Z (which i've just put up for sale on this forum) might be right up your street and it only has 12000 miles on it! :)

    What are you getting instead?

I've placed an order for an M135i last Saturday. I'm at the point where I need rear seats (family reasons) so my beloved Z is up for sale. So although i'll lose the looks of the Z i'm still going to be driving something quite special. :)

Nearly bought one myself! Great wee car!

Test drove it last Saturday and was very impressed especially with the 8 speed semi auto box. Managed to get 18% off list price which sealed the deal. Just need one of you nice people on here to buy my 370! :D

  7. Last month I put a deposit on a new BMW M135i. I loved the way the car drove and BMW was doing a cracking PCP on them. A week later I started having second thoughts as I just couldn't take to how it looked. Then I watched top gear and although I know Clarkson can be ridiculous at times, his comments still carry some weight with most viewers and I got a bit of stick at work. Anyway BMW made a blunder with my order which I wasn't happy with as it was setting my delivery date back by weeks and the price was increased. The dealership agreed that I could cancel my order and I did.

I then reverted back to my previous choices of:

BMW Z4 35is M sport in alpine white.

    Nissan 370z GT in white

Porsche Cayman s in seal grey.

I spent the last week visiting dealerships and I had an extended test drive in all 3.

The things that were most important to me was how the car looked in the flesh, performance, mpg, servicing and road tax.

All cars looked stunning but in the flesh the cayman looked best in my opinion. I felt, and I'm no expert that the z4 35is was significantly quicker (May have been because it was twin turbo). The BMW was also the most economical by far. Servicing and road tax was also cheaper in the Z4.

I felt the 370z was the most practical car and easiest to live with daily. It also had most driver space.

But I know it sounds ridiculous but I cant get past the Porsche badge.

In order of preference the BMW came out on top and having the same engine as the M135i was a bonus. Followed by the Cayman and finally the 370Z. I know I'm no expert and I'm still deciding what to buy but the Cayman is tempting.

How ironic. I've just placed an order for an M135i so my 370 is now up for sale.

  8. The time has come for me to gain some rear seats due to family reasons and so my pride and joy is now for sale. No expense has been spared in maintaining and tastefully modifying this car. I have owned the car since new and I am the first registered keeper. It has been garaged since new and used only at weekends hence why it has only covered 12000 miles. It has never been on a race track and the engine has always been warmed before any spirited driving. I have only ever used Shell Vpower and the car has always been washed and detailed by myself - you will not find any swirl marks on this car!

I really want this car to go to a member on this forum and that's why the mods will be staying on the car - if someone buys it from this forum they will appreciate the subtle performance enhancing mods that I have put on this car which have all been expertly fitted by CS (Cougar Store). The RRP of the car with options when I bought it was £34,700!

    The car:

Nissan 370Z Manual Coupe GT Pack in Twilight Grey with Connect Premium Sat Nav system.

First registered 02/03/2011 so is an 11 plate. Current millage is 12100 miles. One Owner from new.

Options I had on the car are:

Metallic paint, Connect Premium Sat Nav System, Luxury Floor Mats and Luxury Boot Mat.

    Full service history:

1st service performed by Abbey Motorsports on 06/03/2012 at 3856 miles

2nd service performed by Colliers of Birmingham (Nissan High Performance Centre) on 06/03/2013 at 8054 miles

3rd service performed by CS (Cougar Store) on 01/03/2014 at 11835 miles

Also had it's first MOT whilst in for it's third service at CS so currently has 11 months remaining.

    The modifications:

Full Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust system costing £2000 - one of the best quality exhausts available for the 370

Berks High Flow Cats costing £400

Uprev engine tune by Abbey Motorports costing £400 and giving 306.5bhp at the hubs which is about 340bhp at the crank.

Swift Sport Spec R lowering springs costing £400 and specially imported from USA for me by Tarmac (trader on here). These springs get rave reviews on the American 370Z forum.

Eibach wheel spacers. 25mm front and 20mm rear.

Full wheel alignment adjustment has been performed once the springs and spacers had bedded in.

I removed the rear wiper, wiper motor and washer nozzle and fitted small rubber grommets to further enhance the sleekness of this car at the rear. I have kept these parts so that this is fully reversible in about 30mins.

The mods I have done have vastly improved the driving experience and also have visually improved the car without going over the top.

Condition wise the car is stunning - almost still like new apart from some very minor stone chips to the front lower bumper. There are no "dinks" or dents anywhere on the bodywork. Wheels are immaculate. Interior unmarked and still smells like new. Never been stolen or involved in an accident. The car has no finance on it and is owned outright by me. I have the original bill of sale as well as all the manuals, service history book, receipts, spare key etc. Worth mentioning that it did NOT need the steering lock recall as it was built after the recall date.

Still has the original Bridgestone tyres on since new. The fronts have plenty of tread left on them but the rears are getting low and probably have about 3000 miles left in them.

Last month I put 12 months road fund licence on so there is 11 months left.

    The Price is: £18995

Hopefully I've covered everything but please PM me for anything further. I will keep it on here for a few weeks before considering advertising it elsewhere. I live in South Leicestershire just 10 mins from Junction 20 M1. Thanks for looking.

    Scotty.

  9. Berks HFCs for me this summer :)

Might want to consider the new Cobra HFCs. I have a set and I'm very happy with them. Apparently they're designed to reduce the chance of MOT failures compared to the Berks I'm not sure when they're officially being released but you could contact Cobra direct for info. Mark at Abbey also knows about them ( they fitted mine).

My car has just had it's first MOT and no problem with emisions and that's with Berk/Akrapovic combo. :)

  10. Out of interest, does the intake sound change at all with those filters in? Any more of a grunt?

I'm assuming any sound change, if any, would be minimal?

I had the HKS air filters and didn't notice any difference in terms of sound and performance. It did bump my insurance up a little bit so went back to OEM ones.

  11. Quick update.........

Booked in 15 April with CS to get lowering springs and spacers....can't wait,

Big thanks to Mitz at CS for being so helpful

Big thanks to Simon for popping in to show his beautiful twilight 370

    :) :) :)

No problem Andy. Good to meet you at CS. Lowering springs and spacers transform the look of the car. Loads of people pass comment on how planted the car looks once lowered and spaced out.

  12. Ah crap! I don't want to go down that route!

I've got eibach 25mm all round from CS and I think they look great, 5mm isn't a lot tbh

Yeah that's what i had initially but 25mm on the back gave me too much poke (overhang). I lived with it for 6 months but it bugged me so much I changed to 20mm on the rear. I think it's worth pointing out that i'm on Swift Sport Srings Spec-R so having these may give a different result in terms of poke than if you are Eibachs or if you are not lowered at all. I will post some photo's up when I get some time.

  13. With my springs 25mm front spacers and 20mm rear spacers takes me flush with the bodywork with no overhang or poke. I had 25mm on the rear but gave me too much poke and looked a bit too much boy racer so changed the rears to 20mm. My advice would be buy one set of 25mm and try on the rear to see how they fit as you are going to have to have 25mm on the front anyway.
