  1. Haha okie dokes guys... I'll stop ducking my dummy now :dummy: lol

Stew the car is in process of being reincarnated , i'll show so a couple of pictures of how it stands in another thread..

Sarcasm is cool, i for one have a very sarcastic annoying side so crack on! Big hug?

  2.

    Why the sarcasm?

Have a read around the forum..... How many 'My cars fastest' 'My c*cks biggest' 'My Dads hardest' posts do you see on here?

There is a reason that these threads aren't created. It's because generally the membership of this forum is not interested in reading about racing on the street as it's the ultimate form of automotive chav and 95% bull anyway.

From a club standpoint it's illegal to break the speed limits and racing on public roads is extremely dangerous. Now I'm not saying you can't go and enjoy the car as you most definitely should. Trackdays are wonderful if you want to explore the limits of your driving ability or a go along to a club meet, driving sensibly with like minded people and enjoying a chat about cars and everything else is a great way to spend a summer evening.

You will also find that this club forum self moderates to a large degree as the majority are looking to have a laugh and threads like this one give the opportunity.

So in summary, Chavs get flamed on here. VXR Astras are quick but suffer from torque steer. 350Z are heavy but comfy. The chicks dig Zeds more than Chavstras.

Illegal street racing is for people that use Dom Torreto for 'self pleasure' material and quite possibly lasting 10 seconds or less.

    Well,

I havent actually stated that i have been street racing anywhere in my posts, even if it may be pretty obvious thats what im talking about, i havent actually said it so for all anyone knows i could be talking about a drag strip/circuit racing etc... The word drag doesnt mean street or public road where there are other cars.

I am an enthusiast not a chav, and if you were to ever be in my company you would realize this very very quickly. Ive been into cars for years and years and have done a good few track days and dragging up the strip etc including the nurburging. I take my cars very seriously and its a passion for me.

I know forums in general don't tolerate street racing and are far from impressed by bragging idiots especially by ones that have joined the forums, but i feel im not bragging but making a point as thats the person i am.. I would also be happy to share my losses etc. I just love the debate and getting involved.

Unfortunately going onto a new forum can be difficult as you have to tread on thin ice otherwise you may be tarred with the wrong brush. Judged etc..

I dont think there is anything wrong with making a point of which car is faster, and i believe i chose my words carefully and just focused on the point which was what car was quicker, not mentioning street racing as such. Dragging etc could easily be a private industrial estate etc which i know a few of. So before people start insinuating, they really need to get the facts. Its only fair right?

These are a few reasons why i dont use the forums as much as i used to years ago, as i feel there is alot of justifying that is needed and effort required... Making a point can be a real struggle and frustrating.

I love a bit of banter, but there is some sarcasm from people you havent ever met or your not familiar with that is below the belt and isnt taken light hearted.. "my hero", thats rude in my opinion, especially from someone your not familiar with.

Anyway, i know now to keep a little quiet and to be cautious.

  3. Haha i hope that i dont come under that comment of the few that think their 350 is invincible.. I can say ive lost a good few races/drags. Im not a newbie i just dont use forums as much anymore.. My other car would wipe the floor with my Z, I only say what i know, and have proved. Its all a bit of fun and banter.

I actually bought the Z expecting it to be slower, i was pleasently surpried, and after a few good mods, it can hold its own for sure..

Ive not posted much on this forum but i can see a fair amount of sarcasm and patronizing floating about...

    Take it easy guys :)

  4. lol it was not standard matey and with how easy turbo tuning is i would guess at it being around 300bhp.

and the zeds are not slow dont get me wrong! but they are not that fast either due to weight.

Ahh see now tha makes complete sense :)

That car with 300BHP would accelerate fast being how light it is. I thought you were playing with a stocker...

    My bad :)

is it light is it? i have no idea lol i hate french cars so have no clue about em, it was quick tho.

but back to the astra went for a spin in a customers vxr that was around 350bhp that was amonster but only once it had stopped spinned and torque steering lol. but wouldnt go round corners :)

Yeah it weighs 1220KG so with 300BHP it would be a goer alright lol... Yeah FWD will do that, wasting power through the lower gears.. I have a 320BHP 2.0liter turbo starlet stripped to bare weighing 800-900KG and is all over the shop lol, but 3rd gear onwards its a demon.

  5. @Neilp... Well were out drag racing most weeks and have tested it time after time.. On mine the higher you go before the gear change the better acceleration you get marginally.. I havent had it dynod yet and yes you will be right about the torque dropping off as every car does(or at least most) But in practice, on my engine at least thats how it is. Ive owned the car for 6 months now so pretty familiar with it.

    Drag racing? Where's this at?

    In a secret location...... :boat:

No seriously, that is besides the point where and when it takes place. Im just stating how my engine operates with actual practice in racing scenarios.

  8. those vxr are fast, its a turbo init however like most have said they dont handle at all!

the zed is a cracking GT cruiser but to fair is not a straight line bullet, its a shame their are so heavy.

but they make up for that on handling! for sure :)

i had a play with the new megan turbo think its rb26 or sumit on a motor way and could not match its acceleration. was only around 1/1.5 car lenghts behind tho so not that bad.

Really?? Either my car is a bit strangely quick for what it is or yours is underpowered.. You should have easily pulled on the megane.. My old 190BHP EK9 type R with 1.8, weighing 1000KG could out accelerate that car slightly... They are not that fast, only have 226BHP i believe... Motorway you should have definitely pulled easily..

    My hero.

Why the sarcasm dude? Im just stating my experiences with these cars and what should have happened under normal circumstances.

  10. Just out of curiosity, with the DE Zed at what point is it best to change gear in terms of rpm to get the best acceleration?

Out of mine with the bolt on mods ive done/spacer etc i find it is definitely best at literally at the limiter but without hitting the limiter. So @6500RPM, or as close to.... Quite peaky power i find mine has.. I cant say for every Z

  11. VXR's are no problem at all... through 1st and 2nd there is going to be minimal difference in these sorts of cars, 3rd onwards is where power starts to shine. 60MPH is just for pub talk, shows nothing about real power. Its a quick spurt...

Different engines have different power, i know mine is fast enough to blow an astra VXR, as i have done :) Alot of people cant drive/change gear quick enough, rev to the proper rev to get the most of the car etc etc... That plays a big part to...

The track edition 350Z, they only sell in Europe according to Wikipedia.. Pre 05 weigh 1450KG... Ive taken around 50-60KG easily out so im weighing in at around 1390KG... Astra VXR's weigh 1393KG....

Hmmm, alot of our cars are not as heavy as you think and these hatch backs are alot heavier then you think to ;)

  12. Reckon you could take/put up a few more shots focusing on the front and rear mudguards mate? I'm keen to see what they look like from all angles as thinking of buying myself!

Yeah that wont be a problem mate,

I'll take a few pics up in the next few days showing the guards in a bit more detail.

PS... I didnt even know i had front ones haha! Ive just noticed! All this time i thought the car looks ever so slightly different from the norm and i could never put my finger on it.. How strange

Subtle mods but do make it look a bit sportier.

  13. @Blacky.. Ahhh, that looks nice and neat. Where can i get this? And i assume it a straight fit to UKDM cars?

I just want to say, im assuming your 350 is the orange one? If so i saw that at japfest and i have to say its the nicest Z i think ive seen B)

Thanks  yes the Orange one. The harness covers are a straight fit, you just have to hunt them down on t'internet.

Cheers bro, i'll look into it

  14. They are mud guards

I can supply these... I was thinking about getting a few sets actually as I like them myself, im not really into body kits and skirts etc but I like nice subtle touches like these

Really? Oh fair enough, thanks for clearing that up.

  16. @waltzinblack Well ive just had a look at loads of different 350s and ive not seen one with them on so your right! I have no idea what they are  I thought the rear end of mine always looks a little different from the rest and never knew why! Now i know lol

@Blacky Cheers dude! Can you shed some light on this JDM harness cover? What is it?

    Cheers Laura!

  17. @rtbiscuit I see where your coming from, at the end of the day, its not what power it puts down its how it actually goes on road.. Figures are just for a bit of fun.. Id rather it be less then i expect to be honest, that way i can **** people off when i say im underpowered  I have a few videos of the speedo winding round effortlessly to high speeds. No problem hitting 160 on the clock

    @Tarmac

    Nice one mate, thanks!

Nah i still have the cover, i just couldnt fit it back on once i fitted the spacer. But apparently this spacer gives a little more power up top like 2-4BHP.. I dont know how true that is though. Might be worth just getting the smaller one if you want to keep the cover.. I wasnt bothered about the cover though.. Plus my aim is to go F/I very soon so i thought this would work even better once boosted.

  18. Wow looks awesome. I love how you've kept the stock exhaust shape too. And have left the exterior, it looks better plain.

How about one of those carbon fibre bits for the middle of the dash around the instruments and pods? I think those look cool.

Also, when you get a plenum spacer, do you have to remove the engine cover? Getting a spacer fitted soon, but I like how it says 3.5 V6 on the cover

And erm, what are those mudguard bits on the back? they look cool!

Thanks buddy! Appreciate the comment

Yeah i would love the carbon surround but these are things that will have to come eventually when i have spare cash :)

Ahh they arent mud guards they are rear spats, part of the GT kit i thought!? I bough the car with them on so im not 100%

I believe with the smaller plenum spacer you can retain the engine cover but with the larger one i have, it wouldnt go back on.. They did state this in the description so i knew this might be the case. They also said i wouldnt be able to fit the OEM strut bar but i managed to space it out and fit it soo.....

  19. Cars looking good

might want to get your Butt Dyno recalibrated though as i think it might be out ;)

    Cheers mate,

Haha i know what your saying as most DE's dont make higher then say 290.. Which it might be around that,

The cars it competes with is pretty surprising, easily pass the Revvy 06 engined 350's, which is odd.. Dead even with bros mapped dyno proven 320BHP EVO 5 slightly lightened, and many other cars we've drag raced against. I wont bore you with the rest  And these are drivers i know can drive.

I mean Im not a bragger etc, im not here to gloat, Just saying, ive been into racing/drag racing track racing for years now and have had competitive cars so im familiar of how things should fair up and this is a pretty odd one.. They are supposed to have 276BHP right? I can bet my bottom dollar its a hell of alot higher then that... Id expect the quarter mile to be dealt with in around 13.4 in this, again which is odd... As im sure the HR series motors are getting around these times?
