  1. Unfortunately i dont think any of the body mods make it go faster... but most of it is carbon so minimal weight reduction may take an effect :yahoo:

Nah they are normal 5x114 but have a cap that covers the nuts.

It was never ment to look shiny show car, hence the matte paint etc. I know what you mean about the marmite effect, have had a lot of positive feedback from people and im more than happy with the outcome.

Thanks for the comments guys :)

  2. Hi Guys. Its been a while since i put anything in this thread. But I have now more or less finished the exterior of my Z. Few little bits left to do. Not everyones cup of tea i know. Hope you like it.

Will post up a full spec list a bit later, at work at the mo! The rear wheels are 13J incase you was wondering :D

  3. Good luck with the build, what sort of time frame are to looking to get it all done?

As Bhav said he's just up the road in northwood and I'm in rickmansworth so just as close if you need another set of hands

Are you only doing external mods or are you going to look into performance aswell?

Hopefully looking for it to be nearly done by Christmas. Going to look into a Twin Turbo setup, bit of power to go with the looks. Thanks for the offer of help

Out of interest, how much did you pay for the old girl in that state?

I had a deal with my Recovery Truck which laid in the crown jewls lol, hard to put a price on it really.

do you think you may be better cutting the carbon and white contrast in a different way across the car? at the moment it loks like its cut horizontally which doesnt quite sit right to me. looking at our new friends from oz with the drift car, the way thats cut the white to black at an angle, rear black and front white, looks really good and flows well. just a thought.

Will check it out, sounds good.

  4. P.S. Don't be put off with the veilside haters - its a marmite kit. Fulfil your DK fantasy ;)

Haha that made me chuckle. Yeh Zedrush one is definatley something to aspire to. After looking at the picture im definatley thinking to leave the spoiler/rear wing out of the build. May try Photoshopping the rear quarters into Carbon to see if that flows any better. I quite like the look of it with the white quarters. But as you said I will probably change my mind 100 times. I did the same with my last car when building that :bangin:

Thanks for the comments tho

  5. Ive seen this car parked up in slough aswell...looked an absolute mess!

Best of luck with getting it back to its former glory bud

There is a trader on here thats got wheels very similar to the ones in your photoshop for sale btw :)

Also just noticed your in Uxbridge so if you need any help or info im only down the road in Northwood

Thanks for that mate. May call on your help if I need it

Oh if you need OEM parts, then PM either R35LEE or ZMANALEX on here.

They both have a wealth of advice to offer too.

If you are really really desperate to get rid of them lights, I got some standard non LED rears knocking about.

I'd swap with you, but only so I can make a video of the destruction of the ugly ones, lol

Yes please (thats if your serious about the swap) Let me know :D

  6. Good luck to you mate........ a project is always fun  I am not a massive fan of the wheels or wing. Best veilside imo was zedrush's B) Search badbreed 350z on google...... you should find it fairly easily

I was going to buy this car when it was for sale not long ago.. It has the big wing on it now and needed some paintwork. Then I saw the thread on here about it being involved in a hit etc.

Looking at those pictures Im liking the idea of the kit without the wing.. Looks cleaner.

Wow, quite a transformation you're planning! Not a fan of Veilside myself but it's your car so do what feels right for you. However, I think that 2 tone look with carbon looks absolutely awesome in you pic!! Can't wait to see how this progresses :)

Thanks mate. I am also looking forward to it all coming together.

  7. Carbon wrapping could be used to good effect on your project if you like the look of it. You could do the whole car in it. Andy built a matte black Veilside and it worked.

Yh I have been looking at the wrapping aswell, its quite effective. Is there any pics of the Matte Black Veilside?

  8. Thanks for the comments guys, I accidentally deleted the picture on Photobucket but have put it back up now :bangin: . I know the Veilside kit is not to everyones taste, but I like it and Im only building the car for myself :D I'm not really going for the two tone look, the Carbon will look different under natural sunlight compared to the PS version I done, so hopefully will look good. I was considering the Carbon rear quarters but liked the idea of keeping them white to break up that half and half (two tone) look. As for the wheels I am undecided yet, just found these and put them on the Photoshop as a quick thing. But other than all of that she will be returned to her former glory after clearly not starting off life so great  . Keep the comments coming

  9. So I purchased myself a 2003 350z on Sunday. Nice car apart from the bodywork which had been neglected a little, also think it has had a tap on the front at some point as the bumper had a terrible respray and the radiator support panel was broken. So here is how I got her-

I decided to have a little clean up under the bonnet-

    After

I then set about removing the front bumper to reveal the radiator support panel.

Took the panel out and gave the whole area a good clean. Just going to order the replacement part so I can continue. All small bits at the moment just sorting out any bits that need replacing etc before I set about transforming the Zed. I have done a quick photoshop of what I am aiming for. Comments and suggestions welcome

    Plus a few other changes.

    Thanks

  10. Hi everyone,

I am in need of the Housing that sits infront of the Radiator, it bolts to the chassis legs and has the bonnet latch bolted on it etc. I took it off and the part number is > PP+GF30 < but I have had no joy in finding one. Anyone got an idea of where I might be able to buy one?

    Thanks,

    Rikki.

  11. Welcome to the forum Rikki. You should start up a progress thread on we can watch on with interest.

Im going to start my progress thread, but I think im being a little stupid as I can't seem to find the right section to put it in  . If someone could point my stupid self in the right direction that would be great.

    Thanks,

    Rikki.
