Got it working, turns out it was a fuse in the fuse box behind the battery.

I'll be letting the AA know how bad they are at checking fuses.

Hi all,

I stalled my my car at the weekend and it wouldn't restart. I called out the AA and they could not get it going ether and said it could be the starter motor so I got them to take it to my mates garage.

He has told me that the starter motor is fine and that the problem was the earth between the engine and the body was rusty. He has cleaned it up and replaced the bolt, the car is now turning over but not firing.

He thinks that as the engine was not earthed properly and this may have damaged something else like burnt out a wire or even the ECU when it was trying to earth.

Has anyone had this problem or know what may of been damaged to stop the car from firing?

Sounds great, im getting mine fitted on the 22nd what size tail pipes did you go for? i carnt make my mind up.

thanks for the big welcome and help, is ther any thing i should look at if it is an import other than the higher insurance. what are the pro's and con's of haveing an import?

im lookin at buying a 350z gt and after finding one i like the look of have rang it up and i'am going to look at it on friday. i have just put the reg in a insurance compare website and it comes up saying its a fairlady ive seen this on others and wondered what it meant or stood for as the insurance shoot up.

any help would be great.
