Thanks for the offer - I'll stick with this one though.

Sounds good - hoping to pick the car up within the next 2 weeks so should be about for that.

The car is actually from a forum member - just not quite at the 100 post mark to list on here

No worries. All the best with new car

    Source?

Threads on Babybmw or f87 M2 forum but mainly and more surprisingly the two BMW dealers I've both been speaking too have said quite a few people have cancelled and gone with the current model instead.

  3. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next couple of months. Most people that were waiting for the M2C have in fact cancelled there orders and gone with the orignal M2 due to the very small changes made and the hideous S55 exhaust note. Also with the introduction of new m performance parts that will fit the new and old car. So at the moment I can't see there being a big shift in used M2 prices... let's wait and see

  4. Hi everyone

Parting with my 350Z after a very enjoyable 8 years. Needing a more practical car with more seats and looking at getting a BMW M2.

Anybody gone from a 350z to a M2? or anybody with experience of the M2. Does the hype about them really live up to what they say?

    :)

    Cheers

  5. Cheers for the replies

If im ok not to have the washers for MOT then great, because i find them a pain anyway and don't use them.

Might go for the V1 replicas RT Performance are selling

  6. Hi all

My front bumper is starting to look a mess with millions of stonechips and

also there seems to be a split near the badge. I dont really want to change

the OEM look too much. I do like the Nismo V1 bumper but I have the HR

model and believe the washer jets dont fit but without them they will fail MOT?

Anybody have any good ideas for replacement?

    Cheers

    Alex

  7. Update in case anyone's interested or the OP is. Passed the MOT today with no problems whatsoever.

Berks HFC's and Invidia Gemini exhaust system ~ was warmed up a little but not excessively and it had probably cooled down a fair bit by the time they got round to the emissions test so very happy with that result.

Thats good you passed all ok :)

Going round in circles abit, i was about to go ahead with the Gemini + Berks,

then i came across the motordyne shockwave tdx v2....

    and this video...

Love the sound but does sound very loud and has test pipes.

This is the sort of tone im after and apparently there's no drone

  8. Although ive just looked up the Berks and MOT fails.

Has this been a problem for any of you?

    Find a sympathetic garage...

True i guess, but does that mean Berks mostly fail?

  9. So say your cruising in 6th gear doing 60mph, 2-2.5k rpm and go to slightly accelerate, do get a loud boomy sound in the cabin?

as this is whats happening with the cobra non res

  10. Thanks guys

Did look into the scorpion but thought it sounded

raspy with hfc and too quiet on its own.

Could be wrong as I haven't heard it in person.

Anybody have the invida Gemini with berks and can comment on any drone?

  11. Hi all

Since installing the cobra non res exhaust I'm

Starting to struggle with the drone it gives off

when cruising. I'm doing a few longer journeys

a week now and also my gf is complaing every time she gets in the car. So I'm thinking of taking

    It off and replacing.

I really love the tone the cobra gives off but don't

love the drone. I could swap out the non res pipe

for the resonated pipe but I've still read people have drone issues. The only other exhaust tone

I like is the invida Gemini possibly with berks added. Here's a few questions below

    1) Will the Invida drone with berks when cruising

    In the 2k 2500k range?

    2) has anybody gone from a cobra to the invida

And if so what's the tone like compared to each.

    3) how loud would the invida be with berks

Considering the cobra non res is about 90db at 3k

Any answers would be much appreciated

    Cheers guys

    Alex

  12. I have the non res, and i admit the exhaust is very droney when cruising between 2000 / 3000. On the plus side the exhaust note is

amazing. Its got that nice burble up to 4000 then you get what i can only describe as like a crackle popping sound when you go past that.

Sounds epic :) I was very conscious of getting an exhaust that was going to sound to raspy and chavy to a certain respect but this exhaust

sounds ace and turns alot of heads. It is loud tho but if can live with the drone then go for it

    Hope that's helpful

  13. Found this great video on youtube about the build / production of the Z and

    its track Characteristics.

Quite interesting when talking about the handling. From what i could understand its sounds

like the Z is safer when riding the brakes slightly into corners?

Anyway great video to watch if you haven't seen it before, gives you a good insider of how the Z

    should be driven

    Cheers

    Alex

  14. Yeh i think the TTRS is a winner specially with the S tronic box, there's people running stage 1 remaps doing 0-60 in 3.1

and 0-100 in the 7's which is pretty impressive. Not to mention that amazing 5 cylinder sound!

just for those that haven't seen this vid

  15. cheers for the replies guys

i think the R is the only car i would swap the zed with really, not a fan of

any of the other hot hatches or most other cars lol

Mind you the price of the R's are quite high and for another couple of grand

i could wait and get a TTRS which is another car i would love to own even

tho thats a completely league of car

Maybe the word 'practical' is not quite the word i mean.

What i would like is another car that would be cheaper to run than the Zed

but still have the same amount of performance or more and possibly be

an auto (DSG / Stronic) so my girlfriend can drive it.

Like i say im pretty fussy when it comes down to cars and really the VW R and

possibly TTS / TTRS would be the only choices i would be happy with.

I think test drives would be a good next step...

  16. Hi all

Think ive got to the point where im thinking of changing to a more practical car

to which my girlfriend can drive as she can only drives auto's

The only car that really catches my eye is the VW Scirocco R with DSG.

In terms of performance do you the think the R would match the HR Z?

or anybody with experience of changing to the the R?

    Cheers

    Alex
