  1. I sold my car today, she was driven out of my life at lunch time. Got less than I originally wanted, but more than the best offer i could get for a part exchange, so happy with the deal overall. I was happy it went to a lad that looked as excited by it as I was when I first had a test drive, and am glad it won't be passed through auctions etc. I hope he has as much fun as a Zed owner as I have. It is only the 2nd car I have owned that I have been truly sad to see being taken out of my life, the first being my old XR2 15 or so years ago when I was 18. I would like to thanks people who have helped me in the past with certain questions, for the post's I have read that have made me smile, and even the moody people who make me feel like a **** when i posted something stupid or put something in the wrong place (I was a forum virgin when I joining 18 months ago!). I am now in the hunt for the ideal 335i, I had one sorted and was due to part exchange mine, but now I have sold privately, I am going to shop around a bit more, now I have a bit more buying power and traders/main dealers can't make out like they are doing me a favour! I have decided though, I am going to be a horrible BMW driver (I think Audi drivers are now worse, different discussion maybe, I'm sure someone could direct me to an old post on the subject!), but in my heart, the Zed will always remain, and who knows, when me and the missus split up again, I could be soon looking for the ideal Z to cheer me up again, maybe a 370 next time!

    Regards

  2. Seems strange that you agreed a part-ex with BMW 2 months ago and were looking for a quick fire deal to beat their offer, yet the car is still on the market. If there's a genuine reason, I'd change the pitch that goes with the sale.

I have altered an original advert. put on sale originally 2 months ago and hadn't sold my zed. I have just updated advert as have just arranged a part ex with BMW. Hope that make more sense, sorry to confuse you!!!

  3. ***** I have agreed a part ex with BMW to go against a 335i coupe, so am open to offers, pretty obvious that if in excess of the trade in value and you are in a position to complete a quick sale, you could pick up my pride and joy for the past year and a half at a bit of a bargain, I won't be offended by offers, but I have a half sensible part ex price agreed, so will rebuff anything that is too opportunist!! It would be nice to see my zed go to someone that really wants a Zed, I will feel a bit bad leaving it all alone at BMW as I drive away in my new car ******

I have had the car since march 09, and in that time I have put new tyres on car (rears only replaced in April) and had drive belts replaced. MOT until april 14th 2011, and it flew through MOT with no issues at all. Service History from Nissan as follows:

    5943 miles on 25/06/04

    14368 miles on 15/05/05

    22579 miles on 24/07/06

    30469 miles on 19/06/07

    35881 miles on 31/01/08

    43927 miles on 01/06/09

    52799 miles on 03/07/10

I am selling the car as my girlfriend has told me I need a more sensible car with 4 seats, in truth, I love my zed and don't want to sell at all, it has been the best car I have ever had.

The car Is in very good condition, but please bare in mind, it is 7 years old, so it has some stone chips on it nose (this is common for zeds), and the RAYS have minor curbing. It also has a small mark on the boot lid, caused by someone inconsiderate in a car park, and a light scratch on the side. this is probably me being picky and overly harsh. Due to this, I will not say the car is immaculate, but it is still wonderful and has been well looked after. I am happy to supply extra photo's etc if wanted.

    Reduced to £8,750

If you are interested, please PM me, I will then contact you, I don't want to give mobile out to general public as have been plagued by marketing calls in past that made me change my number. Though I do have a "phonesafe" number on pistonheads advert.

    Many thanks.

  4. I have a P1 service due shortly. My zed has always been service by Nissan Main Dealers, so I am going to continue with this as will probably be selling my baby soon after posting.php?mode=post&f=64#. I know the P1 service is probably where the least work is actually done during the service, but I have just been quoted £260 by glyn hopkins at colchester, and to me feels like daylight robbery. What are your thoughts on this? I have read that some people pay around £100 for a P1. If I get my trusted mechanic who replaced the drive belts on my zed & has always looked after my old cars to do the service, do you think this will affect the sale price/saleability as no longer FNSH? £260 seems alot of money, my P2 service last year was only £260, surely P1 is cheaper???????

    cheers

  5. I prefer the GTi (esp the Edition30)- depends what you're after

What size car are you looking for? Mini to M3 to Monaro is a big range! Would you diesel? Is that swearing on this forum?

Imagine a Zed TDi - it will happen people!

I really want a quick car so don't miss the zed power too much. I want it to be no more thirsty than the zed. I just need 4 seats, but don;t really want 4 doors. Happy with a hatchback/coupe, not really thinking saloon. (having said that, audi's are nice, especially rs6!).

  6. alfa brera! although the back seats are useless! how about a 159 ti 2.4jtdm? lovely looking and its got 210bhp from a diesel! i bet it pulls like a train  , ive got a serious soft fpot for alfas so i think im biased

I have to have 4 seats, but don't want 4 doors, a saloon will make me feel like my dad, whilst I still have the years in me, I need a coupe or hot hatch!!! If i go Alfa, brera will be the way I go, however, even though I love them, it is falling to bottom of my list! May test drive one though just to make sure!

  7. I wouldnt bother with a mini if you want 4 seats waste of time, once the seat goes back there is no room. Golf is the safe bet, solid, reliable and holds money.

+1 on the Monaro good thinking devyl.

Do you think R32 over GTI?? I do, but my pal was saying better of GTI as little difference in performance but will be much more economical, plus he reckons will hold price better?????

  8. Hi Mate

What about a vauxhall monaro v8, i think u could get a 2005 plate for the £15K mark, Now thats serious muscle. with 4 seats.

    D

I think the 6 litres will seriously test my overdraft when I fill it up, what do you reckon, 10 mpg?????!!!

  9. What about a new Clio 200 (standard or cup spec)

I was at a Renault dealer over the weekend with my mate who's looking for one - they're willing to negotiate pretty heavily. We beat the guy down from over £300 a month to £260 a month with a free set of mats and a TomTom integrated satnav. We started looking at used models but they're offering 0% finance on new models.

    You won't find a better b-road basher!

I used to drive a 172, so even though I like them, want something different, however, my other half is looking at getting one for her next car, so will still have some fun b-road bashing!! Might have a go in a megane 225 though???

  10. You'd get a nice M3 for £14k :)

I have been looking at M3's on pistonheads, I really like them, but think I may be hard pushed to get a newer car than mine, with decent mileage they seem to be around my price range for an 02 plate.??

  11. what about an Alfa Romeo Brera coupe 3.2 v6, or would buying an Alfa be daft?

Looked at an Alfa GT last year, great package but driving position was crap, felt like driving a bus 'cause you can't get the seat low enough. Other that that very nice motor.

I just read a review that slated the driving position too, think that would put me right off too.

  12. I wouldnt say daft, they are prob now much better engineered and built. I love Brera's but i dont think they drive well, even the Pro Drive one.

Just go and test drive some but id sau a R32. yu can always take ours out for a spin if you wish im near Reading.

Cheers for offer, I am a good 100 miles away though, so will see if my local VW dealer have one in and give that a test drive. I think you are right on driving a few cars to decide, be cool trying them all out too.
