  1. Just before i do my test drive tomorrow i really dont know what to expect, is it a quick car of the mark, through gears ect, dont want to swap my current hot hatch and then be dissapointed around its quickness A - B ?

I think its because i know its a heavy car im expecting it to be on the slower side even tho it has the nice big engine upfront?

    Help guys.

  2. Hi guys,

Just a quick one, i will hopefully be getting my hands on a new car in May, and the ca i have always wanted is a 350z. So anyway just want to know what people average in Mpg, i have a works van so its only realy for social and i do around 8k a year but from reviews ive read the Z can be very bad on fuel. It will be 75% town driving and the odd blast here and there ;)

Thanks for any info you can give.

  3. Hi mate, just a quick one, you said you was offered a brand new one for £20k what was the spec on this and where was this from, if im looking at paying £17k i may aswell pay the extra £3k and get a brand new one. Surely cant get a brand new 313ps model with GT pack for £20k thats dirt cheap.

If thats the case i might wait a couple more months and go down that route instead.

  4. Hi all,

As you will know from my post in the welcome section im hopefully getting a 350z sometime in late Feb, i was budgting around £14k and the only thing it must have is a GT pack, although i would like a few specific colours, But now ive decided to adda few £K to the amount available and was hopefully looking at the 309bhp model.

What do you think i should do, i do not really want to be modding the engine and would like to keep the engine standard so i was thinking get the latest model with the more powerful engine, only thing that puts me off is the Tax on them is £400 but am i right in thining if i get a 296bhp model on say a 56 plate i will also be paying £400 tax anyway.

If you had the choice and was in my position would you buy the latest phase 350z or go for an older model.

Please give any information that will help me choose,

    Cheers for the info,

    Chris.

  5. Only the 06 onwards ones, im Glad i got an 05 now!

Also from what i have read the loder engine has the most torque and therefore in daily driving is the best of the 3 to have.

also next to no performance difference between any of the 3 types of engine, dont worry about the numbers mate!

I thought the newest model with 309bhp has the most torque then it was the phase 1 and then phase 2, i could save myself a few thousand by getting an older model, just on paper the 309bhp is much quicker 0-100

  6. How would an aftermarket spolier be fitted the the boot of the 'Z' have seen a few i like but im not sure on the supplier of them, will have a look and ask a few questions.

  7. After reading the Evo buying guide it said not to change the tyres as it affected the set up of the car, this was one of the things that put me off as i thought i wasnt able to change the spec of the tyres without affecting the ESP set-up. Whats the general decission of best tyres, currently have Michelin Pilot sport 2's on mine and they seam to be an excelent tyre. I will only be doing around 8K a year max in mine as we have a van for work and this will be used for social.

    Only a couple of other questions;

Whats the current Tax for a year on the car and whats it set to rise to & how small is the boot, im not after a huge boot as i realise i would be looking at the wrong car but just after people views who use it day -to-day is it ample for the car ?

  8. Does the 350z have a slip diff, i thought i read somewhere that it did, anyway i know what you mean the steering on my Megane is so light and the gearbox is like a wooden spoon in a bucket, but does the heavy feel of the car affect handling, mine will be used for town driving and the occasional 'spirited' drive ;) want a decent all round car, FWD is terrible and im hoping off the line grip will be much bette with RWD ?

  9. Hi guys just a quick update, i have decided to extend my budget and will be aiming for a 313ps model, i have found a couple of models im interested one for £16999 with 10k on the clock gun metal and GT pack on a 57 plate what do you realistically think i could knock off this price 1k - 2k.

Just need to get a test drive on one yet, only managed to sit in one at the moment but have been put off slightly by a few people saying they feel too heavy and need to be worked hard to get the best performance out of them, but im not letting it put me off untill ive taken a few out for a test drive.

  10. Hi everyone, just thought i should say hi, joined the other day and the site looks brilliant compared to others ive had a brief view on. Anyway ive decided to sell my Megane GT and im looking at the 350z i have a budget of around £13,000 ish but could end up adding a few K to it lol, Im after either the dark grey, silver, black or blue and must have the GT pack. Ive had a quick look at the buying guide and ive also read the one in the evo magazine and the 350z seems to be a pretty rock solid car. But is there anything i should look out for. Im just going to take a look at the Autotrader website and over on PistonHeads and also anywhere else i should take a look.

Heres a pic of my current car, running 208bhp and 280 lb/ft tq
