  1. Thanks mate! Sometimes it feels like it's spent more time in the bodyshop than on the driveway, and I wouldn't be too far wrong! It's changed a bit since those pics were taken, it's now got an 07+ bonnet, some ZMANALEX red brembos and smoothed side skirts (i.e. the line halfway up the skirt is now gone). Just a few more bits to do then it's finished, honest! I'm sure 285s would fit but you'd need to make sure the fronts were the right size to match or you'll get TCS issues. I played it safe and went with the tried and trusted combination of 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 in Falken FK452s and I'm very happy with them. I'm not lowered yet but I'll be dropping it 20mm or so soon when I get Muddy's KW V2 coilovers.
  2. I have the Linea Corse Z2S and I'm very happy with them, although I did end up getting the centres repainted gloss black to match the colour scheme of my car. I too was worried about the hit on performance and ride quality with 19 inch wheels but I needn't have been, they are fine. In fact it drives better than before due to the wider, grippier tyres. For info the fitment is 19x8.5 ET15 front and 19x10 ET20 rear. Pics: Hope this helps.
  3. Just what I wanted hear, thanks! I don't mind running without some of my boot trim for a few weeks whilst I fine tune the setup.
  4. Thanks mate, although mine will be the V2 version which only have the rebound adjustment. Muddy has told me that the shocks are adjusted at the top which ties in with what you say but is that something I can get to whilst they are in-situ, perhaps by removing some of the trim near the rear strut?
  5. Hi all, In the near future I'll be the proud owner of Muddy's KW V2 coilover kit and was just after some advice from people who already run the KWs. Firstly, how do you guys go about adjusting the damping on the rear? From what I can tell you need to set this before installing them and given that I'll be wanting to fiddle with it a bit during the first few weeks to get my ideal settings this seems a bit odd. Surely you don't have to drop them out every time you want to adjust the damping? Is there any way I can access the adjusters by removing some of the trim in the boot? The other query is regarding ride height. I plan to drop the car as little as the coilovers allow (about 20mm from what I've read in the KW specs) as I have to deal with speed bumps etc and also want as much bump travel as possible to keep the handling and ride quality decent. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and if so have you had issues with grounding out? All responses gratefully received! Also if anyone just wants to go on about how much they love their KWs that's fine too. Cheers, Matt.
  6. Yep this is a common problem with differing materials. I recently had my entire car resprayed white and despite all the bits being sprayed at the same time from the same batch of paint, some of the differences were quite startling! The fibre glass Nismo front bumper and skirts were a 99% match for the metal bits but the it was actually the OEM plastic rear bumper that was the worst. It almost looked light grey in comparison to the rest of the car. Check out this pic of my car to see how bad the rear bumper was (although it didn't look that bad in person): It's since been back to the bodyshop as they wanted to have another go at it and this time used a white primer coat instead of the light grey one used on the rest of the parts. The paint match is now 99% perfect. They have said this is a very common problem and on some cars it's very difficult to get right. If you actually look around you'll see a lot of cars come like this from the factory although some makes and colours are worse than others. I've noticed a lot of white Audis with dodgy coloured bumpers and I believe even Porsches have this issue too. There are rumours that it's due to the cars being painted in one factory and the bumpers being painted in another but in reality it's just down to the fact that the bumpers are made of different stuff.

    Various Badges

    All badges are now sold!
  8. I only made the changes about half an hour ago so that's quick enough for me mate! One of the posts was made in error so feel free to delete it. Although if you do none of this will make sense to anyone else!
  9. Had some work done by TDI North a few months back and wasn't impressed at all. They had the following work to do: P1 Service Fit some red painted brembos and replace brakes lines, disks, pads, and fluid. Fit some High flow cats. They made a massive deal about fitting the painted brembos I had supplied as they, wait for it, had paint in the threads! Big deal! They claimed they all needed retapping and that added loads of time to the job. Personally I don't see why running the bolts through wouldn't suffice but even if they did need retapping it's 10 minutes work to do four calipers. Then then completely failed to bleed my brakes properly despite two separate attempts, but didn't seem to mind handing the car over in a dangerous state. They then made a hash of fitting the high flow cats. They used bolts that were miles too short which meant that within a week both cats were blowing. Then worst of all they serviced the car but didn't tighten the sump plug up properly. I took the car into the bodyshop a few weeks later and we noticed that it was leaking oil. We got it on the ramp and found the sump plug was leaking oil and only finger tight! Considering what they charged for the above work I'm appalled at the job they did. I have used them in the past (about 7 years ago) for a Honda I owned at the time and they were very good but all the staff have changed now and as a result they are essentially a different outfit. Never, ever, again. Think I'll try Lockwood and Greenwood next time.
  10. Mine does without any modification As did mine.
  11. Thanks for the backup chaps, it's much appreciated. I did say in the very first post that this was the US version of the rear spoiler but it seems some people don't read things properly. It's worth noting that the US Nismo kit is very sought after as it is superior to the jap kit in that it is made of ABS plastic, not fibre glass, and has nicer side skirts (IMO). Sadly they've stopped making it now so these parts are now only available second hand. It seems I lucked out getting the US version of the rear spoiler, shame I didn't get the rest of the kit too! I hope this puts peoples mind at rest. That said, the spoiler is provisionally sold, I will update the thread once payment has been received. If anyone wants to be a reserve buyer though let me know. EDIT: Just to add, if you check page 13 of the Nismo catalogue I posted above you will see the pic shows that the USDM spoiler does NOT touch the boot and looks exactly the same as mine. The other site must be using a pic of the JDM version. If a pic from the official Nismo catalog doesn't convince you then nothing will! Cheers, Matt.
  12. Right, I've just done a quick google on the part number shown on the picture above and look what comes up: Nismo rear spoiler: http://www.thenissanpartsstore.com/Page ... &prodId=34 Nismo official catalog: http://www.nissanusa.com/pdf/microsites ... atalog.pdf Page 13, "350Z Rear Spoiler_S-Tune". Also note "Ultra high-quality, ABS construction (same as OE spoilers)". Please check your facts in future before crapping on peoples for sale threads.
  13. Why not? It came with also the Nismo paperwork etc? It was sold to me as such so it better had be!

    Various Badges

Hi all, I have 3 brand new 350Z badges for sale. Two are the "Z" burger badges and were supplied by Envy back in Jan and are brand new and unused. These are the "Satin Silver" ones, a good match for the stock door handles. £15 posted each or £25 posted for the pair. The other one is a brand new Nissan badge that came with my Nismo V1 kit (also back in Jan) but wasn't fitted as I had the badge recess in the front bumper filled as part of the respray. I'm not sure if these are any different to the stock Z badge or not. If anyone knows please feel free to post and let me know. £10 posted. Please PM me if interested. Pic:
  15. Here I have a Gunmetal strut bar car cover for sale. I believe covers in this colour were only fitted to the later models and are hence quite rare second hand. As you can see from the pics it's in great condition and none of the lugs are broken. I originally bought this to replace my heavily scratched one but I decided to get that painted to match the car instead hence this is surplus to requirements. I'm asking £50 posted for this part. Please PM me if interested. Pics:
  16. Hi all, I have a genuine Nismo V1 rear spoiler for sale. This was supplied new by Envy back in Jan and was painted and fitted to the car when it was resprayed in March. Suffice to say it's still in excellent condition, I'm only taking it off the car as I've decided to change the styling on my car (again! ). It's been painted Audi Ibis White to match my car so will obviously need respainting to match your car. The good thing is that as it has recently been sealed and painted to a high standard it will be a doddle for your bodyshop to repaint, saving you a few quid in labour. The only thing I don't have is the 5 x 13mm nuts you need to hold it on as my bodyshop misplaced them. These aren't anything special though and your bodyshop will easily be able to supply suitable replacements. In fact you'll already have 3 of them if you have the stock rear spoiler! I didn't realise until I took it off but I think it's actually the US version of the spoiler so is made out of ABS plastic rather than fibre glass which is a bonus. I don't think the US kit is even being made any more so get hold of a new one might be tricky. Brand new these are about £400 plus P+P so I'm asking £250 sent by fully insured postage or £230 collected. If you think you can arrange a courier for cheaper then I'm happy for you to do that but any damage incurred during transport will be your responsiblity. If you want to collect then provided you're not too far away from Manchester I'm prepared to save you some mileage and meet you somewhere to hand it over provided payment is made up front via Bank Transfer or Paypal. Please PM me if interested. Pics: Pics on car:
  17. I'm down for the KW's mate but I've had a few unforseen expenses lately so end of August suits me fine, no rush at all.
  18. Excellent results Clarkie! I've finished all my performance mods now so just need a remap to finish it off. How much are RS currently charging for this service to forum members? Is it still £395 +vat?
  19. I've already posted these in another thread but I might as well whore them again!
  20. Woo hoo, got my refund from Paypal! Just hoping Sarah can sort out a GB on these badges now so I can finish my car off.
  21. I've not had anything yet but I was a few days behind you in making my claim. Hopefully that fact yours has been successful will mean the rest of us will be too.
  22. Thanks for the info Sarnie. I expect he will ignore Paypal like he's been ignoring us so hopefully it will just be a matter of waiting 30 days and then getting the payout. I'm getting quite good at waiting now... As Cragus said, I'll be sticking with ZMANALEX and Chilli Red for my parts from now on. Even if they aren't always the cheapest (although they usually are) it's worth paying a little extra for the flawless service.
