  1. Regrettably im selling my toy due to work issues. :byebye:

Its a lovely condition black 350z on an 04 plate - reg number not included.

    Runs beautifully.

lovely condition GT4 alloys with excellent bridgestone tyres

    2 previous owners - approx 63k miles

Full main dealer service history - last service was the major one, and had drive belts changed. Only 3.5k miles since service.

brand new MOT - tax till Nov, but will be refreshed if it runs out before sold.

Nice unmolested condition - UK car.

Sympathetic ICE upgrade replacing standard speakers and head unit with equally discreet infinity's and a clarion HU, with underseat subwoofer.

Sympathetic exhaust upgrade - gives a lovely rumble / burble, without being too chavvy!

    New HKS panel filter too.

    Price £9995 ono

  2. Well, after a little heart-ache

The GT4 wheels are finally sorted and on the car :yahoo::teeth:

In my (slightly biased) opinion.... i think they look great!! :teeth:

  3. I know the GT4 wheels were the ones that cracked if they were powdercoated or chromed. Whether that indicates a structural weakness which might add extra risk on straightening, I don't know. Better ask an engineer....

Really, i didnt know that......note to self, dont ever powder coat or chrome these wheels!!

Got the advice of a 'specialist' wheel company, who had shown me many examples of refurbished wheels which were infinitely worse than mine to start with. They stated that they simply wouldnt carry out any repair if they werent 100% satisfied that they were 100% safe afterwards. Mine had no signs of cracking or structural damage whatsoever, apart from the buckle that is

I couldnt ask for more really, and certainly wouldnt want to risk my life with potentially dangerous wheels.

  4. cheers MattG

Well there is a light at the end of this tunnel!

Im sure some of you will cringe at this, but ive had the wheel inspected, and there are no signs of real damage (other than the actual buckle itself) - no cracks, or other potentially dangerous faults have been found.

Therefore, im getting it straightened. :scare:

I know this is potentially dangerous, but ive been assured that its not, and all being well i should have it sorted by the end of the week.

To be fair, the seller (and i know he posts on here sometimes) has been very good and has paid 3/4's of the repair bill and has assured me that he did not know it was buckled.

Im sure the words of wisdom will follow, re fixing a wheel!!! These comments are very welcome by the way :)

  5. well, disaster has struck!!

Took the new GT4 wheels to my local ATS to have the new tyres fitted, and was all going well, until they came to one of the rears. :headhurt:

Turns out, that one of the rears is buckled, and isnt really safe to use. No noticable damage, just wobbly when they tried to balance it.

No idea if the seller knew this or not, and so i have asked paypal if i have any protection for this sort of thing.

Im sure it can be fixed - unless im told otherwise, but its been a frustrating day!:thumbdown::bang:

According to this seller, you need to double your price!! :scare:

And they're not in as good condition - these wont stay unsold for long, good luck with sale!

3 days ago id have snapped your hand off, but found some GT4's for similar money, but with crap tyres!

  8. ....oh right!!

Ive not heard of the GT4 wheels being referred to as inferior quality compared to the rays before!!

However, in my subjective opinion, i prefer the styling of these GT4 wheels to the Rays. The weight saving is not an issue - style was the biggest factor in chosing replacement wheels, as i would imagine would be in the majority of cases?

Again IMHO, the weight saving in the forged rays would not be noticable - now if i was driving my westfield that only weighed 500Kgs, then yes, those extra few grammes would make a difference.

Until i had a good breakfast that is, and then all the lightweight bits are pointless!!!!
