  1. You can do 30mph in 4th perfectly well when your on the M62 in the traffic. Tried it again today and it happens in any gear (when accelerating) when I hit just over 25. My warranty runs out in 4 months so going to book it in an Halfiax Nissan and see what they say
  2. Most intersting time is this: 8:16.90 Renault MéganeRS R26.R thats very quick for front wheel drive!
  3. forgive my ignorance - what do you mean by 'labouring'? Adam
  4. morning guys, noticed over the past week that at low-ish speeds in 4th or 5th my car is juddering slightly, not side to side or through the wheel but more like I am feathering the accelerating/brake. It doesnt feel like its stalling or like I am trying to set off in 6th - but there is definatley something going on that feels odd. anyone had similar experince?? regards Adam
  5. Just looking out of my office window in Leeds city centre and can see the reason I wash my own car – someone in the adjacent office is getting their car valeted in the car park by ‘fusion car valeting’. I can see 2 scally’s sharing one bucket of dirty water using sponges that look black with dirt. It made me chuckle. Adam
  6. West Yorkshire traffic cops tend to use Volvo T5's and Vectra estates. Plates used to end 'UA' with no dealer info. Once saw an unmarked 5 series estate in Lincoln - they must have more money! They tend to have light rear tints to hid all the lights and cameras on view, but the 2 ariels is a dead giveaway.
  7. I looked at gloss black - but they looked too 'street racer/track day' - the gloss black wheels on the 911 GT3 look sh1t IMHO also removed the 350z badge from the back which adds a bit more mystery to the car as there are a lot of people who have no idea what it is - had some muppet accuse my of owner a Boxster... how rude!!!
  8. yeah need to get some spacers on it to fill the arches. then obviously a 25mm drop would look better so both are on my todo list. Had a Clio 182 previously and really liked the anthracite wheels - plus it makes my roadster a little different from the rest but without standing out a mile away. The gold brembos look really good against the darker wheels too. Centers are done to match too - least i think they are, will check tomorrow.
  9. Evening all, would have posted this sooner but its being too cold to go outside to take some pictures - got them done by 'the wheel specialist' in garforth - quite good work 8/10 but for £200 its good value. I know its a split decision changing the colour but the pics dont do these justice, they still shiny and sparkle but just a darker colour - and I think it goes very well with the black paint - the car looks mean :-) had to reduce pic quality for the web comments please...
  10. Well on the subject of depreciation my last 3 purchases were: my first house...just before the prices dropped 20% my 350Z roadster...just before all the stockbrokers got canned and sold their 911’s for 50p £10k of HBOS shares....just before the company went tits up! But hey - you've got to see the funny side...either that or reach for the whisky and painkillers ;-)
  11. depending how wide your circle of 'friends' are, I am sure there are people out there how can get into a 350z without damaging it....after all they dont get stolen for joy rides round car parks, they are nearly always stolen to order!
  12. Afternoon gents, As the title suggests I am after getting my roadster lowered (springs only) and its far too cold and dark to attempt myself so after suggestions of somewhere to take it. I work in Leeds so anywhere near there would be great. Cheers guys & its Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!! only 1 hour left til home time!!!! :-) Adam
  13. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_126 ... -7551.html ...come see your dad ;-)
  14. yes you need the nissan lead to connect the power etc - you can do it without the PAC but I wouldnt try it unless you know what your doing. I ordered mine from the states for about £35 including del. The stock speakers are ok - however I am going to replace all the speakers and the amp once it gets a bit warmer....trying to fiddle with screws and wires when its below freezing outside is no fun. I have the roadster version which limits my space for putting a new amp in a bit more than the coupe. If you have a heated garage then do it all at once - there are lots of detailed guides as how to replace speakers and where to mount amps etc.
  15. this is scary!! I had a problem with my roof yesterday when it stopped in the same position. It got stuck for about 30 seconds before working normally. Hope you get it sorted Adam
  16. Hi Mate, You still need the PAC converter as the Bose amp doesnt take RCA inputs like the headunit provides (if you are fitting an aftermarket amp then you dont need the PAC). Once you have the PAC its just a case of match the wires. And make sure you ground the headunit to the metal surrond in the centre dash - dont do what I did and spend 2 days wondering why it wasn't working as I hadn't grounded it properly - doh. I have just replaced my Bose with a Kenwood DNX7200 so any more questions just ask. regards Adam
  17. 350z Roadster for daily 50mile round trip to Leeds. If I am going to sit in traffic might as well do it in style. Use girlfriends 1.2 Punto Sporting for trips to the tip or to the supermarket :-) If I had enough money to run 2 cars i'd get an Exige for the weekend!!
  18. with the freezing temperatures outside mine JWT sounds a bit like someone using an asthma inhaler under the bonnet everytime my right foot goes down.....its brilliant! Adam
  19. Afternoon people. Noticed that my average MPG has dropped from 28 to 24. I drive the same miles each week consisting of early commute to Leeds driving like a saint on the M62 then playful driving on the weekend. My drop in MPG seems to co-inside with the recent freezing temperatures. Is this to be expected?? On the plus side my JWT appears to love the cold air :-) regars Adam
  20. Now sorted - for some reason the left side of the radio housing wont earth but the right side does!!! cheers guys
  21. i attached it to the metal casing that the at the back of the console but alas still not working
  22. ...following on from my last post. New Kenwood headunit, got wiring loom harness, all wires soldered. taken the ground out and attached to mounting point for radio...but still nothing. Notice the spare plug - i think its steering controls or something like that but guessing its not important. Any ideas as to why this isnt working please shout. Also the wiring adaptor doesnt have a box with it like some of the others do. Its a bose system without sat nav I have. cheers Adam
  23. glad to hear its something simple like the earth. will give it another try tomorrow (in the dark and rain) ha ha cheers guys for the help
  24. got harness from States as couldnt find any in stock with UK suppliers - del was only 4 days from California.
