Gear Alignment Plate

Cookie

My 5th and 6th gear had what felt like a notch in between each changing gear. I removed the gear surround, cleaned out, and then aligned the gear plate and issue was solved.

I thought this image may be useful for anyone thinking of doing the same job. Basically just loosen the 3 bolts, put in 6th, push the plate so the flat side is touching the notch, tighten the bottom right bolt, put in 5th, move the plate so it touches the notch again, tighten all 3 bolts. Then check 5th to 6th has no notch when changing between them and that reverse gear engages ok when pressed down etc. Easy job!
