	I've been trying to identify a noise from the front hubs for a couple of weeks... it's sort of binding brakes/front wheel bearing noise even though with the car on the lift the hub rotates freely, and the wheel bearing feels okay.  I decided sod it I'll fit new hubs and a seal kit for the calipers, and when stripping the front hub down on the drivers side I found some monkey had previously broken the ABS sensor tab off, and had glued the ABS sensor into the hub! I'm wondering if this is the root cause, although can't figure how.

	Certain I'm going to sound like a moron here but I can't see how to check pad wear.  The MOT guy said he couldn't either!

<p>
	Is it one of those where you wait for a light to pop up on the dash to tell you to replace or is there a simple solution?  Don't want to drive it until it starts grinding!

	Hi,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Just bought new brake rotors, pads, braided lines, &amp; DOT4 fluid.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Does anyone know of any guides to replacing all the above components?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	All I have is the service manual, but it is American (LHD). For example, is the bleed order opposite (left- swapped with right-side?)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Will I also need to remove all the brake fluid and then re-fill from dry as I'll be removing the calipers and the old lines? Or is it possible to replace all the components and bleed the rest of the old fluid out when replacing with the new fluid (i.e. without having to bleed the system completely dry).
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance

<p>
	What are peoples recommendations? It does have Brembo's if that helps.

	My 2018 Nismo has just over 20K miles on it. I’ve noticed that the discs on the drivers side are scored and this scoring can be felt when running a finger over the brakes when cold. In comparison the passenger side discs have little to no scoring.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I can hear a slight rubbing  noise under braking but only when I have the radio turned off. <br />

</p>

<p>
	Am I looking at new discs and pads or just new pads? <br />

</p>

<p>
	Given I have a Nismo, I’m assuming it would be Akebeno fit I’d be looking for?

	Hi all,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'm a new 370z owner here so certain things are different to previous cars I have owned, such as aftermarket pads etc that are worth paying more for and general maintenance.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I've just had the car serviced and everything is fine but the pads are starting to wear and I can now audibly hear it so I'm looking to get some new ones, I have the red brake calipers so I believe they would be the Akebono calipers if on a 2015 model? If so what pads are recommended? and on top of that, is there any easy way to identify when the discs need changing as well, or should I do it all at the same time? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you! <span><img alt=":)" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="https://www.350z-uk.com/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.gif" srcset="https://www.350z-uk.com/uploads/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" title=":)" width="20" /></span>

I’ve been braking gently so I’m not sure what’s going on with it, could it be the back ones too? Also noticed my steering wheel is slightly off centre, not sure if that’s impacting it or not.

	Just thought I'd do a tiny write up.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I've got a stupidly expensive set of Stillen Radical brakes, front and rear, and it developed an annoying pulsing and judder at high speeds.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	It was driving me crazy, could't get rid of it by following bedding in process and no one I called would skim floating discs.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Really didn't want to buy stupidly expensive new discs as there was so much meat left on these.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So when the car was down at Abbey for its annual service (only managed 1000 miles this year but all fast), they sent the discs off to a specialist to skim.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Voila, no more judder.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Great job again <span><img alt=":)" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="https://www.350z-uk.com/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.gif" srcset="https://www.350z-uk.com/uploads/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" title=":)" width="20" /></span>

	I thought this might be of interest…
</p>

<p>
	when I got the car a couple years ago (2010 370z) the brakes were a bit juddery over 50mph, worse as speed increased.
</p>

<p>
	The car had new discs and pads fitted by previous owner.
</p>

<p>
	I did balancing, tracking and changed tyres.
</p>

<p>
	I then took car to local PTA garage to have new discs and pads.
</p>

<p>
	The problem persisted and was really getting on my tits.
</p>

<p>
	I went back to PTA and asked for a report - they couldn’t find anything wrong.
</p>

<p>
	I contacted Abbey Motorsport in Oxted, Surrey. They agreed to test the car, check disc run out, ovality etc.
</p>

<p>
	Abbey found a bad run out on one of the front discs and recommended new discs and pads as best course of action. They also said that the flanges the discs were fitted to were corroded and hadn’t been cleaned up properly.  I went for that, so they cleaned the flanges. did the brakes and bedded them in properly.
</p>

<p>
	Car now perfect.
</p>

<p>
	I suppose the problem all along has been the bad disc seating on the flanges, not picked up by previous garages. It’s evidently a very significant part of doing the brakes on Zs.
</p>

<p>
	Have complained too PTA who were very good, giving me a full refund on the whole bill.

	On the M25 today, crawling along as usual, outside lane .....I noticed an odd metallic tinking or rattle noise under gentle braking but I only heard it as my window was down, radio off and the noise was bouncing off the concrete crash barrier. I replaced all discs and pads 9000 miles ago with genuine Nissan OEM’s and do not drive the car hard or track it so they can’t be worn out already.  Anybody else had a similar issue with their 370?   Never heard this noise before and I’ve had the car 4 years.

	Hi, I have a set of Akebono calipers I'm looking to fit to my W20V Primera and need to make up some adaptors. I know the 350Z Brembos bolt right on but you need to machine down the disc diameter 6mm so could use existing adaptors but would rather make some up to put them in the right place and not have to machine discs. I just need to know how far from the axle centre line the mounting holes are but it's proving difficult to find the info.
