Looking for quality number plates

I'm looking to replace the number plates on my car and thought it would be nice to have the forum and my user name in small writing at the bottom of them. Now I know there are various websites and ebay sites where you can design your own. I just wondered if anyone new of any of these company's who made quality plates. I'm after ones that use clear plates with the vinyl at the back not the ones that are black with the vinyl on the front, as I think they look a bit cheap. Sorry if that sounds a bit snobbish, I know there only number plates but I'm a bit of a perfectionist that way.

Any help would be great thanks

Mark

Apparently plates are now even more of a focus for the police as they are relying more and more on ANPR for vehicle tax checks. Instant £100 fine according to the MOT tester who failed my Jag this morning for having non standard plates....ffs

When you say 'non standard' do you mean the plate size, or the lettering/spacing etc?

Forum at the bottom of mine and totally legal

Don't plates legally have to have the name and postcode of the dealer where the car was purchased or the name and postcode of the company who manufactured the plates?

Mine does have the plate manufacturer details. Bottom right little black writing.

The photo is not high enough resolution to read the text, but I assumed it was the BS number in the bottom right as required by law.

One thing not mentioned is under the flags section. You can have a fairly wide choice of which (if any) flag you wish to display but these must be embossed onto the plate when manufactured, a stick on flag is not allowed or any other stickers for that matter.

The slogan across the bottom makes them illegal. The border is too close to the letters too.

Just a few points to mention:

1. If you have an utter chav mobile, a horrendously loud exhaust, or drive like a hooligan, then the police are very likely to take any opportunity to pick you up on anything. Since everyone HAS to have a numberplate, I see little point in trying to make them look cool in anyway, as they're never going to. Far better to just have something that is 100% compliant in every way with zero personalisation (including dodgy spacing and fonts), at least that way you have far less chance of getting hassle.

2. On the flip side, if your car is fairly sedate and you don't hoon, then you're much more likely to get away with not having the BS number at the bottom, with perhaps some other text. Much like speeding, if you're in a silver Mondeo you're less likely to get pulled than if you're in a red Ferrari.

3. Running without a plate is a lesser punishment than if you intentionally run a dodgy one. ;) Obviously you can only use the "Oh, I didn't realise it'd fallen off officer!" once, but hey, worth a punt the once. I may have run the VXR220 for over a year without a front plate...

Font slightly wrong, no plate postcode an slogan at the bottom. Honestly.......
