I have the same headunit installed.

The unit has the standard 2x front, 2x rear and 2x sub.

So, not sure about the statement regarding connections.

Perhaps they plugged the rear speakers into the sub output on the HU by mistake?

The sub takes its feed from the rear speaker output.

I lost FM totally why Installed the unit.

DAB reception was pants as well with any of the internal aerials I tried.

Tried glass and an amplified one.

I eventually see the external FM aerial for a body mount DAB one.

Now have full DAB signal all the time and no burble

Hi, we've bought an x3500dab, getting together everything I need to fit it. I was going to buy a pioneer an-dab1 internal aerial but after reading your post I am questioning if that is best. Do you happen to know if the 350z standard aerial is amplified? I've seen these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/06-536-AUTOLEADS-CAR-RADIO-AERIAL-DAB-DAB-SPLITTER-SONY-PIONEER-JVC-ALPINE-/160923001331 which look like a nice solution but it said not for amplified systems.... Thanks

Hi there. Yes, the standard Z aerial s amplified. The amp sits the other side of the aerial itself in boot space.

Think my posts say it all, but before I fitted an external aerial reception was terrible. You could use a glass mounted external one. I just didn't want two aerials on the Z.

http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/ best place for aerial reviews etc.
