How do I put a picture in my signature?

Recommended Posts

The guide below shows you eaxctly how to put a picture in your signature:

First of all, please remember that signature pictures should be no larger than 500 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall.

This keeps the forum looking neat and also allows it to load fairly quickly on members computers that may not have broadband capability.

Step One - decide what you want

Right, first of all we start with what is probably the most difficult step.

Choosing your picture. Thats your choice to make - if you are stuck for ideas, have a look at what other members use.

Step Two - create and save

Make sure its the right size and save it. Remember 500x100 is the limit. If you want to resize an image, it can be done in MS paint, or various other graphics oriented programs.

If you are struggling with creating the image you want to use - ask some of the members for help - there are a lot of creative and helpful people around who will be glad to help.

Step Three - storing the image online

The most common method used to store the image online is by use of a photobucket account. This is a free site that allows you to store your images online.

To sign up for a free photobucket account, visit http://www.photobucket.com

Once you have signed up you can upload your image to photobucket. All the instructions showing how to upload an image to your photobucket account are present on the photobucket site

Step Four - adding the image to your signature here

Right - now the bit you have been waiting for.....

When you have uploaded your chosen image to photobucket, you will see that underneath the image, there are three boxes containing text or code. It is the bottom one of the three we are interested in.

You need to copy the contents of that box ready to place into your signature....

Now its time to follow the steps needed on the forum to insert the picture as part of your signature...

The picture below has numbered steps (described below the picture) - follow these and you should have your signature picture done in no time...

1. Edit you profile by first clicking "User Control Panel".

2. Click the "Profile" tab.

3. Click the button "Edit signature"

4. Remember the code we copied from underneath our picture in the photobucket account? The white text area on the right (in picture above) is where we will put it. Once pasted into that area it should look something like the above picture.

5. Now you need to click the submit button. This will save your changes. If everything has gone to plan, you will find that you now have your chosen image as a signature to your posts.

Any problems please dont hesitate to ask any member of the team for help.
