CrumbMC Posted March 18, 2013 Share Posted March 18, 2013 personally i d say go for the coilovers.....that way your get the added bonus of adjustsable dampering as well as height control.run mine on the tien super street set up....has cost me a new y pipe but a small price in my eyes oh and repairs to the v2 front bumper. I'm lowered on 30mm with camber arms etc but no rubbing. You do not need front camber arms for that drop. I have dropped mine about 40mm on the front and my camber is at -2degrees which is fine. The rears definitely need new camber arms as well as a larger toe adjustment. The Eibach kit is the only kit I know of that supplys this. Pete87 Posted March 29, 2013 Share Posted March 29, 2013 You might damage the standard dampers but I've had my a3 lowered for three years now 30mm drop all round with no problems surely its better to use the standard dampers until they fail then up rate the dampers, you might as well get your use out of them. Lowering springs are ok as there cheap but coil overs completely change the car I have so much more confidence in mine since fitting the coil overs well worth the money if you drive the car properly if you just pose then buy springs. I've lowered mine about 50 mm I think and I don't need all these different camber arms mine runs fine however clearance is a problem now. Chances are you may have to replace the a-arms and install rear adj camber arms to attain decent camber otherwise you'll be seeing your tyre bill ever increasing!
