A update - my p2 service is now due - just phoned the local Nissan performance specialist in aldershot and they quoted me exactly the same price. The nissan default quote i assume

I wonder what Tom at TGM would charge :snack:

Still under the nissan warranty so it needs to be an official nissan garage im afraid.

A common misconception that all dealers would like us to believe.

You can get your car serviced at any VAT registered garage and manufacturers have to honour the warranty (provide approved parts have been used in the services)

  • 2 weeks later...

Has anybody ever had a P3 service on a 370Z. If so what was different than the P2 and did it cost anymore? When you look at the service schedules and see the labour charges it doesn't make sense, outrageous.

I hate having my car serviced (very capable of doing it myself) but whoever buys my car will expect the Nissan Stamp and so it may be false economy.

As many people said before me: Lots of people doesn't know this is not the case. Under EU Block Exemption rules, using Nissans parts and investing in the correct diagnostic equipment means that Nissan owners can choose to use an independent specialist such as ourselves without affecting their UK warranty and that's the fact.(Company has to be VAT registered and showing Genuine parts numbers on the VAT invoice to be correct.) And IMO £250 for the second service(Engine oil,oil filter and brakefluid with a check over 1.7 hours labour) is a robbery. I offering the same service with Mobil 1 oil and genuine parts for 120 inc VAT and it will not affect your warranty.

Yes, as here you are not paying the dealership director, aftersales manager, service manager, receptionist ect...only the technician. That's where the money saved. If you come down I can do your seat FOC of course. Regards Sly.
