the other thread was about independant garages not just nissan ones and was about the information not just yes or no. a different purpose to this one imo so not a repost.

this thread looks a mess, i looked at it once before many moons ago when i first had the car and first joined, i just left it after page two as it was a mess. giving just good or bad seems a bit simple imo with no reason why.

imo of course but its your call

and the title of your thread was really clear what it was about Husky. You think your thread will stay tidy?

Its easy enough to add your info here and the thread title can be changed to suit of you wish.

If you wish I'm happy to unlock the other one. Just thought it was better to have it all in one thread.

Am booking car into Reading Nissan for P1 & a look at my Bose jumpy stereo -will let everyone know how this goes.

Does anyone know if the Slough place has changed hands? I took my 200sx there about 4-5 years ago and they were shocking - sheered a bolt off the intercooler and said charged me to get it re-helicoiled. I was told that it was inevitable and although this may or may not be true, the way they told me was shocking - basically 'your car's knacked, tough @*!# - it's £7-800 please' - never went back.

Ok had the service & mixed feelings.

initial impression - no one wnated to speak to me and I was stood waiting for ages before presence acknowledged. Stupid little thing but it bugs me. Had Z keyring handed back to me as 'these have gone missing' - again good that that it was given to me as a precaution but didn't fill me with confidence. The loan car was empty and I mean fuel guage HARD over past the red. Was looked at like I was a p*adophile when I pointed this out and said I wasn't keen to take a car off the forecourt that was empty & was told 'garage is over there' in a really patronising way.

P1 - £230. not sure if this is good or not seemed ok. No added mileage. Was told they had washed the car but which always makes me happy as my car is a dirt magnet. Got there and there were still LOTS of bits all over the bonnet so although it was a nice gesture it was a half arsed job which makes me worry (prob unfairly) what else was done in a half arsed way. When phoned up they were just really rude, like I was asking for a favour not a paying customer. So in short, KJM Reading: technically no specific problem but didn't make me feel like they would look after my car - I wouldn't go back.

Took my GT4 to Alex F. Noble in Loanhead for servicing (just outside Edinburgh) - paid £500 for a P2 service, and they reported back that all brakes needed replacing ASAP. Gave me the impression the brakes were so bad I shouldn't have been driving the car. Nobles quoted an astronomical sum for doing the job, so I came onto the forum here and got an excellent tip off for parts from Cougar Store (which arrived super quick). Took the car to a local mechanic to get the new brakes fitted yesterday - only to be told that there was "at least a year" of use left in the old brakes!! The mechanic (a very experienced guy) said that (at most) all the car needed was a set of back pads. Feel sure Nobles are trying to create work for themselves... grrr. Oh - and BTW - saw the owner of the dealership cruising in his Alfa Romeo 8C the other day... wonder how he can afford that, eh??

Yes it has changed hands in the past couple of years. Was Dan Perkins, but soon changed to WLMG when I first used them. They are now in a new site, and are an official HPC, so are sanctioned to work on GTRs, so 350z/370z should be safe. We also have the added protection that they know this forum is very active and any bad press for them on here will be massively detrimental. So I suggest you give them a go next time, ask to speak to Mark the service manager and he will be more than happy to chat to you if he knows you are a member here

Had some work done by TDI North a few months back and wasn't impressed at all. They had the following work to do:

P1 Service

Fit some red painted brembos and replace brakes lines, disks, pads, and fluid.

Fit some High flow cats.

They made a massive deal about fitting the painted brembos I had supplied as they, wait for it, had paint in the threads! Big deal! They claimed they all needed retapping and that added loads of time to the job. Personally I don't see why running the bolts through wouldn't suffice but even if they did need retapping it's 10 minutes work to do four calipers. Then then completely failed to bleed my brakes properly despite two separate attempts, but didn't seem to mind handing the car over in a dangerous state.

They then made a hash of fitting the high flow cats. They used bolts that were miles too short which meant that within a week both cats were blowing. :bang:

Then worst of all they serviced the car but didn't tighten the sump plug up properly. I took the car into the bodyshop a few weeks later and we noticed that it was leaking oil. We got it on the ramp and found the sump plug was leaking oil and only finger tight! :scare:

Considering what they charged for the above work I'm appalled at the job they did. I have used them in the past (about 7 years ago) for a Honda I owned at the time and they were very good but all the staff have changed now and as a result they are essentially a different outfit. Never, ever, again.

Think I'll try Lockwood and Greenwood next time.

I took my car to Middlehurst for service, intending to get a courtesy car to go shopping at the Trafford Centre while the work was being done. I live in Rhyl, North Wales and had a bad experience with the dealer I bought the car from, Slaters. I told Middlehurst about a rattle from the tailgate area they said they'd take a look. The courtesy car was a shitheap Micra, filthy, and they charged me £25 for insuring the "free" car for the day!! Got back at 5pm to get the Z, service done no probs, rattle not done, they said it was a major job involving dismantling the "back end" and would be a two day job, minimum. Told them no cos of my location. Asked if my service book had been stamped, was assured it had.

Fast forward 12 months, service time, been living with the rattle all this time! Found service book hadnt been stamped at Middlehurst. Decided to try a local independent garage, told them about the rattle, not expecting any joy again. Got a phone call, service done MOT done rattle sorted!! The technician said he ran his hand over the interior boot trim, found a misaligned piece of trim underneath the rear srtut brace (I had stuffed a bag under it for a holiday trip and obviously done the damage), he just whacked it with his fist, trim popped back in place and rattle cured!(didnt charge me extra for this either as he said it took him 5 mins) Wonder what my bill from Middlehurst would have been for all that unnecessary work.....!!

LOCKWOOD & GREENWOOD Audenshaw, Manchester

Another EXCELLENT service. P2, discs and pads fitted all round, bled clutch, front tyres fitted and a couple of other 'niggles' sorted. Great service and the guys take the time to chat about the car, make recommendations and they also went the extra mile with little things - eg, tightened handbrake without request, wash and vac, etc...

And - forum discount!

Car feels great.

Just had my first 370z service at WLMG in Slough (after many happy 350z services). I got the first 2 for free with the 370z, so dropped the car off this morning. They ran me over to work in a Qashqai as the GTRs were all blocked in (BOOOOO!) and dropped the car off this afternoon having been serviced and cleaned (forgot to tell them not to clean it as I usually do - whoops  ). They even approved of my mods and want all 370z's to come with Stillen exhausts :teeth:

Bought my 07 plate Z roadster from Westway Nissan.

They tried to bash the books when I went to pick up the car by trying to force me to buy 12 months tax on the day I picked it up - when I only wanted to buy 6 They also put the tax through the books as if they had taxed the car. They also only gave me minumum warrany with the vehicle (3 months). They seemed totally disinterested from start to finnish. After 7 months of owning the car - the slave cylinder went.

Took the car to Chester for repair (very expensive) £1100 for a replacement slave cylinder and clutch. Drove the car 10 miles after having it repaired and the engine warning light came on. Apparently they had forgotten to connect something back up properly.

I have put a complaint in to Nissan customer services with regards to the above - they are also disinterested.

This is the first Nissan I have owned and will probably be the last - i'm not at all impressed. I am seriously thinking of getting rid and going back to Lotus - at least they are reliable.

Nissan Marshalls Bury St Edmunds (Suffolk)

Did a P3 Service and MOT on my Zed

Immediately discounted 10% on saying i was a member of various car forums.

Final Bill was £333.05 that was supplying my own (5/30 fully synth magnatec) oil (knocked of £46+vat for using my own oil).

This included a rear wiper blade.

and checked out airbag light - which they said may or may not now be fixed which cost £18.99 (included above)

If not it needs a new part which will be expensive.

so all in all a LOT cheaper than Marshalls Cambridge

The cleaned and hoovered the car, and gave me complimentary 1 year car recovery inc home-start and European cover free - Sadly i already have it BUT if they do it every year and you currently pay for it then its a good bonus)

The guys were friendly and enthusiastic..

I have a list of advisories and the prices are enough to curdle milk but that is for another thread to see if i can find cheaper.

but over all, if you want a main dealer and are around Cambridgeshire i can recommend them.

Unlike Cambridge Marshalls no eye candy to look at (its all micras, Dukes, quashkais and the like, no sign of the 370 or GTR which are in Cambridge but i would happily miss out on that and save myself the £120 extra which Cambs wanted.

OHH yeah, and the car instantly drives better!!!

:drive1

Colliers Nissan, Birmingham (in Acocks Green). Allegedly a specialist high performance centre...not convinced.

Some tosser hit my wing mirror (when it was folded in!). Cracked mirror glass and electric mirror motor was no longer moving side to side.

Only noticed it in the morning getting into my car on the way to work so had no time to check it properly. On the way home from work stopped in at Colliers. After waiting 30 mins for someone to 'look' at it was simply told I needed replacement mirror glass. Had inform the guy that the motor didn't work. After removing the mirror glass panel and prodding the underlying frame he then stated that it was 'f*cked' and I needed a whole new wing mirror.

Quoted just shy of 400GBP all in.

Unsurprisingly I didn't take them up on the offer. Had a look myself when I got home and after removing the mirror glass panel and wiggling the motor arm back into it's recess it was fixed!

Rang the dealership in a less than happy mood and was told 'remind me next time and we'll do you a deal'! Emailed Nissan UK, they have called and said they have contacted the dealership owner who has since called me. Said he would speak to the guys involved and get back to me...that was 48 hours ago and haven't heard since.

If anyone knows a decent Nissan Garage/specialist around Birmingham would love to know - not keen on going back to colliers!
