need help guys

Since having my cat back exhaust fitted i had check engine light come on.

Had it checked by professional garage was told i need to replace driverside post cat lambda sensor.

I had new driver side post cat lambda sensor fitted today but the engine check light is still staying and on now the code reader is showing error code: P1051

I checked this code from the list provided in this forum it is showing as:

P1051: A/F sensor heater (bank2)

anyone know which sensor this is?

alsois there any sensor fuses which i should also check?

Have you tried erasing all the codes then driving again? I recently had a coilpack fail and it threw up all sorts of codes that needed clearing, tried the ECU code reader the next day and no further issues

The only code i can find for that fault is P0051 which is bank 2 heater circuit, which i think is the right hand side cat sensor, if you have recently had decats fitted, it could be a couple of things, one being that the sensor was knocked/dropped during removal/refitting, or that the decats don't have a long enough O2 sensor boss, or it needs spacers due to overheating the sensors which is common.

If you 350Z is JDM then don't panic, as the cat O2 sensors are not used in fuel calculations, i have a wide-band monitor setup fitted to my car in place of the std sensors, it does throw error codes but that all, and although i have the means to erase the codes its not permanent and they will come back if the perceived fault remains.

thank you for your suggestions guys.

I only had the cat back exhaust fitted.

replaced the Y pipe,centre pipe,back box only.

Cats are still factory original.

garage also removed the rusty heatshields from around the cats.

does this mean fault code P1051 is pre cat sensor?

not post cat?

As i said before there doesn't appear to be that code listed, ( but i am using Skyline 350GT/Infiniti manual, but engine codes should be exactly the same) however it appears to be the collector sensor rather than the cat sensor, and AFAIK they are not interchangeable due to response rate.

Are you getting any bad running? IE bad fuel consumption?

Thank you for your suggestions guys.

I had the car rechecked by garage with code reader.

The following codes have come up:

P0037 ho2s heater control circuit low bank 1 sensor 2

P0057 ho2s heater control circuit low bank 2 sensor 2

P1031 ?

P1051 ?

My car is 04 plate Uk spec

Only mod is the y pipe/centre section/back box exhaust fitted

Cats are factory original

We have already resetted the codes but they keep returning

Any further advice guys?

I had already replaced the driver side post cat lambda sensor but all these above codes are still showing.

Also anyone know if there are any 02 sensor fuses i should check first?
