Tuning after Exhaust?

Hotpot

Recommended Posts

I have a 55 plate Z.

My OEM exhaust split near the back last week.

I'm booked in at a place to get a custom made stainless steel exhaust fitted.

A few months ago I got the Uprev reflash and plenum spacer fitted at RS Tuning.

Will I need to go back to Paul and get it retuned after the new exhaust has been fitted?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Need to? No. Want to? Possibly. Depending on how free-flowing your new exhaust is you may or may not see some more gains, and the gains you might get from a new tune might not be worth the extra cost.

Would I do it personally? I don't think I'd bother unless I were fitting HFCs at the same time.

Cheers m8. I'll suck it and see.

If you are on OEM cats and Y-pipe its not worth it.

If you get a free flowing Y-pipe as part of the new exhaust, it could be tempting, but personally I'd get HFCs too then have the tune with Y-pipe and HFCs

I notified my insurance, telling them that I am replacing the OEM exhaust due to corrosion and replacing it with a stainless steel exhaust.

I told them that there would be no change in BHP but they asked me what BHP it is at the moment.

On the check at RS Tuning with plenum spacer and Uprev, it was 293BHP. I asked her how accurate that needs to be and she told me that if I think that there IS going to be a power increase, I need to get it checked and let them know the new BHP.

So it looks like I may need to pay a visit to Paul after all.

Any idea what Paul charges for just a tune and a run on the Dyno?
