900bhp 350Z

Hi everyone.

We are a tuning company down in Wilts and have been tasked with tuning a customers 350Z to around the 800-1000bhp mark.

The engine as it is has been fitted with the APS twin turbo kit (installed and tuned by another company), and recenetly failed on the road (big ends due to low oil of all things!) and was running around 550bhp.

We are aiming for as above quite high BHP figures. Does anyone have any specific information as to reccomended components, alterations etc.

We build alot of high power subarus and map our own management systems so we know the obvious, just not specific to this vehicle. I am thinking liners and closing the deck, but I am sure theres a lot more to consider so any info much appreciated.

I will of course post lots of info and images of the build on here :)

Thanks,

Matt @ M-Tech

Hi Matt, very exciting times ahead with this build ;) As mentioned already my350z.com is a very good resource on high powered forged engined zed.

You should have a word with the guys at GT motosports who are well known and even make their highly rated stuff and have their own turnkey power packages

Good luck with the build and keep us posted ;)

Don't go to GTM, if you are going to ask anyone about building an engine then speak to Forged

Not subtle Ian lol

+1

Hi Ian,

If there is something you know about them then i think we ought to know as i only heard good about them, have talked/dealt with them and even about to order some bits and bobs from them so it will be nice to share rather than make such a strong statement and

Just a little tip mate, do not sleave the block. 90% of street driven cars with sleaves dont last long. Tons of over heating problems and Headgasket probems due to the sleaves moving.

injected performance did 917WHP on the stock sleaves so don't worrie.

Just an update,

We are now taking on Jun's 4WD 350Z.

The chap is wanting to run a similar AWD setup with the attitude of 'if its not over 1,000bhp then don't bother'

Crazy I know, but we love it :)

Now we start sourcing parts...

Matt

nice one

This looks like a very interesting project! Going to be very interested to see the 4wd set up :O

What is the weak link in the 350z engine? Also what sort of compression ratio are you going to be running with this setup?

Good luck with the build
