Unsafe at Any Speed ?

ATTAK Z

Recommended Posts

If the brakes were malfunctioned and he stepped on the brakes would the ECU pick it up...if theres no signal from the pedal? would brake lights work properly... no attempt made to brake sure sure 😂...

why did the car accelerate consistently increasing speed after hes put it in park. Wheres the data collected for Acceleration pedal and Putting the car in park coming to a stop? is the handbrake still engaged or disengaged...

Brake lights, cctv or lack of is not enough to conclude this investigation tbh.

ECU in a 2000 car can tell us what happened. More will be revealed soon im sure. Someones hiding something. Mr Zhan could be lying and wanted to end it or Tesla could be covering up data to save face.

I’m calling BS on any malfunction. As much as I loathe Musk and his companies, their explanation seems perfectly reasoned.

Disagree. Any conscious person would be hitting the brake pedal as hard as they could in that situation, he was still switched on enough to try and avoid other traffic. Scary @*!#.

It depends where the fault is. If the car isn't registering any movement on the a brake pedal, it won't record anything (or activate the brake lights). What Tesla's statement fails to address is the important bit of information; whether the brake pedal was working at all and whether the "back end data" was complete and/or reliable.

Technology eh... Theres a disconnect somewhere. No signal to the braking system from the pedal

damaged cable, faulty software, software glitch, faulty pedal switch....Could be anything really. Some Tesla fans are saying theres still manual braking. I highly doubt it in a drive by wire car thats stationery and the steering wheel can be turned 90 degrees to play a driving game in the center console. Maybe there is but not much use with 400 ft lbs of Torque and 2500kg projectile. Without hydraulic or electric assistance its tricky.

The brake lights probably work on condition that the system is functional from pedal to switch to wheels via any other checking/handshake/assist systems.....

Then why did their data not record any attempt to press the brake?

If the failsafe braking system failed then its probably fair to assume the datalogger and brake lights might have too.
The other option is the guy did that deliberately and didnt touch the brakes even before he drove into a building ........... mmmmmmmm.
