Yeah been enjoying it for the above reasons along with Redbulls continued success. Think alot of Lewis fans will be hurting as i said to a few mates, good car bad car Lewis should be putting night and day between himself and George and he isn't, not even close.

I can't believe I'm agreeing with you on something! 🤣

Never been a Lewis fan. Glad that Ferrari and Red bull appear to be competing for the top spots but not so keen on Red Bull getting so close.

Ferrari all the way. It's in my blood 💖

I feel dirty cheering on a Ferrari. But rather LeClerc than Verstappen.

Good to see Russell doing well, just a shame he hasn’t got the car he thought he was signing up for.

This. It's good to see LeClerc in a competitive car. It's just a shame it's in a Ferrari.

As for Hamilton, I actually think he's being showed up by Russel early on - George is used to eeking the most out of a terrible car and driving at the car's limits, Lewis seems to have got so used to a car that's on his limits that he's struggling to adapt. Currently, I want to see that Mercedes become competitive before they're too far behind, but more for Geroge tbh.

That said, I still want to see Lewis get his eighth at some point though.

The 2000’s. Mainly.

It’s the same reason for anti-Merc/Hamilton sentiment now, for a different generation.

This. But not for domination of the sport, more for the constant blatant cheating of the rules and FIA assistance (see also: the magic power fuelling from two seasons ago).  It’s corruption at its worst, and it’s not even subtle.

Also I dislike Ferrari because their fans all seem to rock up to events dressed head to toe in Ferrari gear

It's not just the blatent cheating and the FIA corruption enabling and/or actively participating in the blatent cheating, but also the unabashed arrogance from Maranello in stating that it's okay that they're cheating because "we are entitled to win".

A mentality they hold to this day; not good enough to win championships, but deserve the most prize money just because.

It’s like they think that F1 would be rubbish without them. Funnily enough, when they’re nowhere near competitive and just trundle around taking an easy 6/7th place, no one actually notices them at all. Same for every single other team.

No comment, but also other fans do 😝

We're just very passionate about our team ❤️

There’s passionate, which I totally get even down to your tattoo, and then there’s dressing like a mannequin from a Ferrari store front. Honestly, it’s embarrassing to see.

The highlight for me was the car crash that was Brundle Fly’s grid walk 😂😂

That was amazing, wasn’t it?!

Dreadful race otherwise. Think it might be worse than Monaco for actual racing, which is a shame as Austin is one of the best tracks on the calendar.

Fabulous race craft shown by the champ, even with the safety car wiping out several seconds of comfortable lead. In a straight fight between George and Lewis, George was on that day the better driver *along with starting 6 places behind him on the grid.

I think Lewis is struggling to adjust to the car the same way Vettel did in the RB when blown diffusers were outlawed, or Danny Ric did when he came to McLaren - in both cases the "number 1 driver" was slower then "number 2", I guess its more difficult to unlearn 15 years of experience than 2.

You cant really count a 7 time World Champion out of the bask of 3 races with a car thats clearly underperforming TBH, if either of the Mercs are going to be challenging they have to sort it in a couple of races I reckons

Sadly Miami, like an increasing number of other new ones, are more about the show celebs and the bucks to be made more rather than an F1 race.

And such circuits, with the size and weight of F1 cars nowadays, is hampering the good intentions to make the racing closer. One Monaco is enough without trying to go one better.....and racing at Las Vegas is only happening to draw in crowds with very, very deep pockets to make the mega rich backers and casinos ever richer.

Imola did show that good racing, with the current cars, can work well and I'm looking forward to Barcelona which should offer the racing we like to see.

Wouldn’t say George was better yesterday than Lewis, let be honest that without the safety car and the ability to take a very short pit stop he’d have ended up significantly further back. He played it perfectly praying for a safety car, and then on fresher tyres Lewis had no chance.

Both drove about as well as expected, neither excelling. Totally agree that George is adapting much quicker to the car than Lewis, but then look at the dog he’s used to driving

An F1 purist cannot agree will the yee haa American bull***t of yesterday. Billy T Ribbs was a joke ‘baby’ and the police escort to the podium was way OTT. Then to wear a football helmet in the podium just confirmed to me that in America F1 is just entertainment.

That’s the whole idea though, and to be fair aside from the race that’s what they got. They need to sell it as entertainment first to get people hooked, then the sport itself will do the talking.

Look at Austin: started off all cowboy hats and brashness, now its taken very seriously as one of *the* races of the calendar. But then that’s actually a decent track…
