Need to get cracking on with these updates?

So got some aero catches off a nice bloke in wales breaking his beauty!

Let me just state- this was an absolute pain- I measure 4 times cut once and it still was a bastard! once the pins were fitted in the scuttle- used tip ex to mark where to drill- obviously drilled a little further back as the angle of bonnet would change where the pins would meet!

once the holes were drilled there really wasn’t any going back!

And now for the worst bit- actually cutting the catch inner shape and drilling out the holes!

Using the templates was the life saver needed! However it’s making sure you get the angle right, I do think I got the near side one a few degree out compared to the offside! but hey ho!

having to cut out the inner bonnet sheath to allow for the catch to sit in properly! I had to keep cutting a bit more on the side which wasn’t too bad as you can barely see it! once the inner housing was sat flush- used a scribe to mark the holes for the bolts!

Once the holes were drilled, edges were smoothed off and pins were realigned! it was time to bolt them down! And check the alignment was atleast somewhat correct!

Once the bonnet was down I could see the pins needed to be moved slightly and the height needed to be dropped so the close was good enough! and presto!

Zakustech bash bar! to replace the factory brash bar! Was really looking for a mean front look so felt that this would be the start! not sure how to work out showing it off at all! But we shall see!  It did come a little damaged but nothing dreadful!

turns out the Oem washer bottles don’t fit at all and have thus been removed! Lucozade bottle it is then! going to get a bottle made up!

Here’s a few ideas/ attempted efforts I’ve made feat the new custome headlights from Dan! halos, rgb demon eyes and drls with a custom colour inside! really completes the look!

So a run down,

Rgb demon eyes controlled via Bluetooth

angel eyes

drl strips

graphite metal flake for the Bazel

amber reflector painted over

had to fix the bracket after Hermes decided to drop or damage the parcel covered in fragile tape! Cut and made new stabiliser brackets to add a bit of strengthening too!

also ordered an underglow kit to fill in the the front whilst it’s dark for when I actually get the time to go to an evening show!

headlights all polished and UV protected!

Bought some upper wishbone arms off @vroom811 so I could faff around putting the polybushes in! after removing the old ones which were actually in really good condition!

the balljoints were also in good nick too so double win!

unfortunately the press slipped and mangled one of the arms, so I will have to give it a go on my current arms!

I cleaned up the arms whilst I was there!

Ordered a nice new mishimoto racing stat! To try and aid the cooling system as it opens at 68 degrees not 78 like the Oem one!

and also to aid this ordered a new koyorad to majority overhaul the cooling system aside from water pump and obviously silicone hoses and this has already cost enough!  with a good bit of advice from @ZMANALEX and parts again from @Coz@TORQEN ready and set to go!

Aswell as this I had already repaired and cleaned out my Oem fans earlier in the year so they will also be a big help too!

A nice little photoshoot whilst the car was filthy! Down a local secluded road which I’ve wanted to take pictures of for ages but always risky with it being a tight road that people use often!

Just a few for experimenting with lights and looks!

Due to running the bash bars atm I’ve got no washers which is making life a little difficult but thank god for Ez car care ceramic glass cleaner! and my trusty lucozade bottle!

Currently having a stainless steel washer bottle being made up with a few uprated bits! just taking its time for the delivery of the new steel!

Trying to make the condenser look a bit fresher, so sprayed it back and have it some eyes!

Problem with having the half wrap is a pro and a con, you can’t do anything with it apart from use the wrap detailer, so be careful and make sure you tape off the edges and corner as any product will damage and burn the wrap!

it’s very simple spray onto a panel at a time and go one direction as wrap is always directional especially when iridescent!

Some spoilers here on this post! thought I’d just appreciate the difference in colours and the contrast!

So it’s been a while that I’ve been staring at my gear gaiter thinking “it doesn’t do the knob justice”  so I thought I’d give it a shave 😂 bought a cheap knock off purple Bride gaiter and hoped to make it fit!

there’s a lot of excess material however I think it does do it a bit more justice than the lost on leather look!
