Hi all, hope well.

As per title, 2012 370z passed the MOT but had some issues that are going to need to be addressed so could do with some advice on replacements/ deals;

- Front tyres - NSF just legal so will need the front pair replaced.  Any recommendations?

- Oil/ Filter could do with being changed/ replaced as been a while.

- Front discs/ Pads worn

- Rear pads worn

Any advice would be great.  Im currently doing about 3000 miles a year at the mo so not looking to spend huge amounts.

Thanks,

G

I'm sure someone with more experience will be along shortly to advise on Tyres and Brakes however for Oil and Filter - check out Opie Oils, put your reg in and it will list the correct oils and filters, they usually do a discount as a service 'kit' and have voucher codes running most months. Defo worth a look.

Browse to the Traders section of the forum and have a look at their websites, it will have parts that are commonly used on zeds and you can pick out brands that are around your price range (not spending huge amounts is hard to interpret as we all have a different view as to what a 'huge amount' is). Tyres everyone will say Michelins but they are pretty pricey. Same with brakes. And so on and so forth.

Pick tyres that you can afford to replace (sod's law states you'll find a nail) - avoid budget brands try and stick with the performance tyres for what is loosely a performance car.

Brakes, again, pay for what you can afford - ECP is the cheapest but the Z traders will have better brakes (less dust, better performance etc.)

Always always keep on top of the oil - it's a solid engine and the more you keep the oil fresh and in the min/max limits, the longer it will last.

Torqen, Tarmac, Clark Motorsports are all good/responsive/fairly priced

Oil/filter could do with being replaced as it’s been awhile ! Does the 370z not need a service every 12 months regardless of mileage like the 350z ?
Got mine serviced last year and I’d only done 500 miles

Oil and filer minimum annually, no matter if it's only 500 miles.

That's a plus in service history; as far as I'm concerned there is no such thing as changing your oil too often, leaving big gaps between oil changes is what kills an engine.

Are you saying that the subject of engine oil was brought up on the MOT?

Not quite for the MOT as an advisory, but any garage worth half their salts will ask this, its not uncommon for most people to combine service and mot so it only means one visit a year. Obviously it means a higher turnover that day for the garage and one visit for the customer

I've seen it alot of the last year people moving out of line and choosing not to service due to low miles

Yes i definitely get the Zed serviced every year no matter what mileage it’s done. Just found it funny that last year was only 500 miles, covid and all that ! and combine it with the MOT as olly was saying.

Some engines are quite good, they eat enough oil that you practically replace it every month

I didn't know whether to use the cry emoji or the laugh one
