EBC Slotted Rotors

Hi guys,

The protective corrosion coating applied to the rotors (believed to be that)....I’ve recently read that this should be removed prior to road use. I presumed the bedding in process would remove the coating naturally? Although it would clog up my new pads.

Please could someone advise.

Thanks

Chris

After you've touched the brakes a couple of times that coating will be all gone on the contact area, with no harm to the pads.

Never heard of anyone removing the coating prior to fitment.

I have drilled and grooved ebcs on mine, the instructions state nothing of the sort, they give you normal instruction to go easy for first couple hundred miles then do a few harsh emergency stops from about 60mph, should be in the instruction manual.
