370z 2010 display screen blank except when reversing

suddenly the display screen blanked completely except for when displaying camera when reversing, which works perfectly.  Other times it seems just  dark grey but not completely off (I may be imagining it).  Could this be a blown fuse a board somewhere?  I've searched google for an answer and there is nothing.

I think its just the screen itself. A new TFT screen can be purchased for £99.00. Unless you can find a car electrician, car audio place or youre DIY person. That screen should be replaced. There was a minor recall in US on some models 2009-2013 I think. The symptoms were similar. Blank screen and only working on reverse.

You can either go searching from places where they have removed it from another car

or

A screen that needs coding and software applied. I guess youd want one pulled out of another car. Fingers crossed the same issue wont happen on the new screen. Suppose its better than paying £1200

Just call them up and check that even if its pulled from another car it doesnt require coding or programming as Nissan will charge for that.

Theres no gaurantee that its just the screen. I would get someone at a car audio place to look at it before making any moves as these run off software and are preprogrammed.

Nissan probably want to replace AV control unit as well. That isnt necessary if audio, heater etc still work as normal as far as I can see?!

Where are you based?

When I installed an android unit to my car I managed to create this issue too. But it was because I had some harnesses the wrong way round at the back of the connect system (between the main head unit and screen). Maybe one of those connectors has come loose?

It's fairly easy to undo the centre console and have a look. Plenty tutorials online. So might be worth doing that first.

If you've got compressed air and electric/sensor cleaning spray, could blast the whole section with it and see if any dust/dirt is causing an interference. I'd also double check all the connections, give any connectors a push together and check for any frayed wires/casings.

Screen obviously works, sounds like something isn't quite sitting right.
