370z values

are 370z starting to drop in price, I ask this question as I was looking at a second hand Porsche mecan and the dealer only offered me £9000 ,but I said to him the last minted yellow fellow went for £16000 retail, he checked up on this and it was correct, but said prices are dropping 2010 minted one now was retailing at £14000, well so give me a good price for mine, o he would not budge, ell I walked away, o just looking for views on the 370z selling market.

I get the feeling they have dropped off since winter. I bought mine last summer and do feel like I could have waited and saved a few more pennies. 

 

This is all opinion based, no hard facts to back up my statement (aside from the infrequent checks on auto trader).

Personally I think the only 370z that is going too hold its price and I am not saying this becouse I want one at some point is the mk1 370 nismo

Proverbial sods law in my experience, prices drop when you want to sell and of course prices rising on the replacement.  But, exceptions do occur and found when trading in it's always best to wait ( if you can!) until Jan/Feb time when dealers are looking at their cash flows.  Or, you strike lucky with someone on the hunt for the very car you have and then have more cash and buying power for your preferred replacement.

 

And of course, the green energy movement  is not exactly helpful when trying to shift cars nowadays that are heavy drinkers, particularly with mainstram dealers, so better off going to specialists to get a better trade in if a private sale looks unlikely.

 

So keep an eye on the wanted ads!

The lower mileage, well-kept examples seems to keep their value relatively well i think. But there are definitely a lot more cheaper 370's for sale at the moment, Plenty of cars in the sub £10k range 

 

I purchased mine almost a year and a half ago at 34,000 miles for £15k. Looking now, the prices for the equivalent today are still around £15/16k as far as i can tell. Although this is probably just wishful thinking

Of course the usual caveat that what cars are listed for and what they sell for are on the whole different numbers especially if its a private sale...I knocked £1500 off the asking price of the VX220 I bought for example.

I think prices are holding up well,trade in will never be good as it is a narrow market,however if you can get a private sale you will get more cash. I also think mk1 Nismo should hold up well as there are not that many to be had.Just look at how Supra values have gone now they are becoming scarce !!
