The Brexit Party

Nigel Farage is one of the biggest conmen going. It's hard to decide which his best con is, managing to convince people that he is a 'man of the people' when he is very much one of the 'privileged' that he rallies against or that over the years he has been paid hundreds of thousands of pounds to represent us in Europe, which he has not done, then continuously bleats that we have no voice in Europe.

And to those that are saying we have to leave because that's what we voted for and that's how democracy works and if we don't leave we're living in a dictatorship, you're talking @*!#. One, the cornerstone of a democracy is the right for people to change their minds, it's why the government have to hold a general election at least every 5 years. Two, people voted to leave, they didn't vote on what terms. The government have been unable to agree on a deal so surely the most democratic decision is to put it back to the people.

It’s really not. We weren’t given any terms on what leave would be like, just a bunch of random and vague promises, and yet there was a massive turn out and people still voted to leave. What we actually voted for was, as always, for our MPs to worry about the details of the policy in question. That’s how our government and our democracy works, always has done.

You're right though, we can change our minds and rejoin someday if that’s what we want. Absolutely no reason why that shouldn’t happen at all.

And that's democracy.

Not sure tbh. They’d be happy to have us back I would imagine, and as long as we pass all the appropriate tests then why not take us back? The only real sticking point could be that they’d want us to take the Euro, but I suspect that might get overlooked pretty quickly.

If the Euro even still exists 10-20 years down the line...

Just bear in mind we will have a huge stack of trade deals with the rest of the world at that point...i wonder what the cost would be to exit all those, undo the relationships and switch it all back to the EU would be? ;)

Nope, sorry we've voted on it once, that's it. It's undemocratic to have a second vote on anything.

The next generation of voters could rejoin someday, those who haven't voted on it before that is. Provided they do so on the first attempt. That's how democracy works, right?!?

Absolutely no chance the EU would let us rejoin without serious concessions, certainly losing our rights to veto and probably GBP too.

As with the deal they offered us, it cant be too good or everyone would be jumping out to see how it went for a few years. If we leave it really is a once in a lifetime decision which is why its so important to get right.

The obvious thing is that the EU will want to protect its interests in our leaving, hence the hardball they are playing, and winning, like anyone with any common sense predicted. Still waiting for this 'easiest thing in human history' to happen with us leaving, with all the things we would demand, in less than two years, to actually happen. Once we are out, we are out, if we want back in we are going to have to pay for that substantially - unless you are a blinkered leaver who doesn't understand business, economics, politics, negotiation etc. and that any hardball played by the EU is them being 'unfair' or some other blithering nonsense.
