Speed Cameras and Snoopers

Just don’t speed where there’s likely to be cameras or the police.

It’s pointless tbh. A generic satnav app on a smartphone will show you where the fixed cameras are, and that device won’t tell you about mobile ones until they’re already targeting you and have your speed. Honestly, they’re a waste of money when common sense and the mk1 eyeball do a better job. :)

The Google maps satnav is pretty good at giving plenty of notice of fixed cameras.

Much more useful than my old Snooper from the late 90s back in the day.

In the 2 years of using it all I got were false alerts

I was the gadget king back then.

Had a snooper.

A PDA connected to a separate GPS unit for sat nav.

And my favourite......the pager connected over short distance to my car alarm!

Now all you need is a smartphone.

Recently I've noticed when using Google maps in Apple Car Play in both the Porsche and the Polo that fixed speed cameras are being warned orally, again not 100% and so far have not included average speed cameras (i.e. M23 which maybe to do with them only being there while the road work is going on).

What Ekona says is true though, using your eyes is the most reliable source and your head when that right foot seems to feel the need for muscular movement.........
