That's a great deal, I'm surprised you haven't had any interest.  I paid over a grand more last year for an HR with 94k and worse specs (standard suspension, stock clutch etc.)

I would have definitely have taken this off you last year if it had been available. Hope you find someone interested soon.

Thank you, it does need a little tlc but still a HR at the end of the day. Just a shame they’ve gone down in price so much

A couple of your bad points such as the rattle & cracked windscreen could be fixed quite cheaply.  Have you considered getting this done?

You may also want to put the stock cats back on and sell the decats separately.  Potential buyers may not be a big fan of MOT fails.

Yeah I’m gonna get the rattle fixed.

The windscreen is on my insurance for £90 but when I sell the car I want to cancel my insurance and if I have the window fixed they will charge me for it :(

I can stick the cats back on if anyone is interested and wants it like that

That seems pretty cheap for a hr 350z, if this was available when I bought mine I would have probably considered it.

The things that would put me off it would be that you have mentioned a crack in the windscreen, but looking through your pictures I can't find any picture of it. In all honesty, a cracked windscreen would put me off because it would give me the assumption that the previous owner hasn't taken care of their car. Also as far as I'm aware, if the new owner claimed it on their insurance it would affect their premiums going forward as it still needs to be declared when getting new insurance/renewing (I may be wrong about this).

Looking through your pictures, there seems to be a key mark on a door and a scrape one a door too? Don't know if that's because the pictures aren't very clear. Neither of these are mentioned in the advert.

Also, the majority of your pictures are taken in the dark and poor quality, with some of them being blurry. I'd probably retake them in better lighting conditions.

If I were trying to sell it, I'd get the windscreen sorted, see what I can do about the damage and then take some decent pictures in better light.

Yeah I understand the windscreen will put most people off but if I get it done under my insurance it will cost me full price when I go to cancel the insurance after I sell it.

I had a windscreen replaced under insurance on my old car and it doesn’t affect their premiums and you don’t have to declare it and it doesn’t affect your ncb or policy in anyway, I’m not sure if people understand that which might put them off, all they have to pay is up to £120 towards the new windscreen from their insurance company the main reason it’s cheap is because of the windscreen.

There is a scratch by the drivers door handle looks like someone has done it with a key.

In getting some some of the problems fixed in the next couple weeks and it’s now on cats.

I’ll try and upload more photos but seems to not like my phone when uploading so takes a couple tries

I can vouch for that. A windscreen is so easy to replace on an insurance policy and does not impact insurance going forwards. I've even had specialist insurers laugh down the phone because I wanted to tell them about a windscreen claim.

Only the big insurers want to know and you can ask them to confirm (in writing) it doesn't impact premiums.

But yes once he claims then he's obliged to pay the whole year's premium, not ideal if you're selling the car.

Fair enough, I guess most people (myself included) incorrectly assume it will affect insurance premiums as you're asked about it on some popular insurance websites.

If you can't get the windscreen sorted, just fix the other bits that you can and take some nice pictures in better light. If it were me trying to sell the car, I'd get a windscreen from someone breaking a car and get it replaced. I think it would be much easier to sell without a cracked windscreen and you'd probably get more money for it.

You could ask a mate to take some nice pictures for you if you're having difficulties. Or maybe another forum member would be willing to help out if you're close to them.

Blurry pictures to me would make me think the car bodywork is in poor condition and the seller is trying to hide that.

  • 2 weeks later...

So I’ve had some bad luck with this car and had a deer run out on me but I managed to turn away from it so it hit the front bumper and passenger side fender. I have got a replacement bumper on the car and thanks to Zmanalex I have a front fender on it now too both need respraying to match the car.
it also needs a passenger side arch lining and headlight washer cover.

I still use this car as a daily driver as none of this affects drive ability of the car and will continue to do so as I don’t have another car yet.

I also replaced the petrol gauge senders thinking it would help but now it doesn’t go below quater of a tank on the gauge. Also the power steering has started getting heavy now and again so I’ve bought a pump off zmanalex just need to get round to fitting it at some point but power steering is working fine for for the last few thousand miles so might be okay and maybe heavy due to tyres or deer in some way

I’m giving up on the car now and only have 2 days off over Christmas and New Years so no time to do anything with it.

I have photos of the damage and new bumper and fender on the car

I reduced it to £5500 which I think is a fair price considering it needs 2 panels resprayed.
Any questions just ask

Sorry to see this update and awful timing that sadly could happen to anyone - all the best with the repairs and sale

thank you mate, was just a meant to be a nice night out seeing corfe castle then on the way home a deer popped out and was to late to do anything, I’m just lucky it wasn’t worse and I didn’t hit it head on. As you said can happen to anyone

What a bummer. Talk about bad timing. Still, you have got all the bits on it ready for painting. Personally I think its a great price, but the market for a buyer will be slim, especially for someone happy to buy a car needing painting, not to mention this time of year. I would say get it painted first, but then there didnt seem to be much interest before hand when it didnt need the painting. I take it you have advertised it in the usual places as well as on here?

yeah not many people would be interested but currently for the next few week/month I won’t have any time to sort it :( doing a lot of mileage and the petrol is starting to show now I do about 1.5k miles a month now. I’ve advertised it on here and gumtree I was looking at autotrader but £70 for an add is putting me off any suggestions on places to advertise it is welcome :)

That's bad luck and timing mate. I'd get the respray work done, door scratch included and readvertise it tbh. With it needing a paint job it will put alot of people off it. Anyone that is interested in taking it off your hands are only going to low ball you on it, and tbf, they'd be right to do so. Not fixing it properly for sale makes it look like an uncared for Zed, and the Zed market is small enough as it is without giving prospective buyers an excuse not to buy yours and go elsewhere for their purchase.

Very true. Once they see it`s been in an accident (even if only cosmetic) people start thinking the worst.

Places to advertise, well I have always sold my cars on ebay. I put them up 99p start with no reserve and it will always fetch the market price. I always check before hand what the sold prices are so I know what to expect and if im happy with what the market says its worth then on it goes. Downside is that you do get the usual muppets offering you £100 etc but I just ignore them. Last car I sold, bidding got to £2000 with a few days left and one prospective bidder came out, viewed the car and gave me £2600 cash for it.  The ebay fees are high, but I think are cheaper than autotrader etc...
