Jetpilot Posted December 2, 2018 Share Posted December 2, 2018 (edited) I have a real hankering for a 4c at the moment and is on the radar, very surprised it came out on top (although not by much), just a remap takes it from 240 to 280hp which is the most you can get from the standard ecus and a pretty healthy jump, by all accounts the ecu for the gearbox will not accept any more power than 280hp from the main ecu, a race ecu and you are up to 320hp, hyrbid turbo 340hp and twin scroll 380hp + all on std internals. Alfawerks are developing a crank to take it to 2.0l or you can forge a std one, being that its just the aluminium Giulietta engine you could pick one up from a scapppy for 50p and forge away in the background. hmale4yu Posted December 10, 2018 Share Posted December 10, 2018 i share the opinion that this is becoming more of a potential future buy with the prices to have slightly dropped now good examples mid £30ks On the UK forums they say that its reliable as anything quoting high mileage figs from US users across the pond but that may be Alfa owners viewing things from the perspective of a bit of bias. One thing is for sure - that servicing at Alfaworks is a must for this specialist car as the main network is p poor Additional Pros: Buy a good one mid 30ks and really won't be difficult to sell on/depreciate much , fuel economy, looks good in any colour/spec level (silver seems popular in London but not my fav) The biggest thing holding me back is the lack of luggage space. I might get bashed for this but I think one solution to make this car more practically viable to put a boot rail/boot bag as per the following links. If it were my 4C I would wrap the boot in PPF/vinyl then attach the rail so as to avoid any any possible marks that may arise due to it. Then attach a holdall using rope for when you need to carry extra items like the food shop. Also at low speeds the steering is tough, Not an issue as the 350Z even with power steering was tough. Theres one on there right now for £28,500 but its accident damage rear driver side wheel and arms were damaged. Hard sell that one Theres a company that does them as rentals. Lol at the thread starting all about its performance capabilities and then I chime in and you see luggage storage solutions ha. Would like to know if anyone has noticed a visual difference between the two reds on offer ; ones a £2k option that I don't think people will pay a premium for - could be wrong. He said it might get claustrophobic on a journey longer than an hour Bag on the outside just gotta shake your head at that. Use the passengers lap as storage. I must admit i agree, never really struggled with the boot size in the VX220, it was enough for a helmet and bag of clothes to last a week or so, how much further you realistically going to go in one. A mate of mine went touring in France in an Atom, he just travelled light! I suppose coming from bikes where a tank bank and rucksack was about as good as it got, luggage space has never been a thought. Regarding manual option i would presume with such a low volume production it was one or the other, whilst i am sure they could have just used the gearbox from a Guiletta it would have increased production costs to have a different production line for the alterations necessary.
