Hi all, new member from Peterborough!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, so after months of looking I just brought myself a 2005 350z, my first serious enthusiast car. Quite an upgrade from my 1.2 Fiesta!

The car is due a big P3 service (last one was in 2011 as far as I can see) so I need to find someone nearby who can do this.

Also the brake pedals a little mushy, stainless steel braided lines are in order methinks , but again I need to find a garage to work on it!

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Fresh fluid and some good stainless steel braided lines should fix the spongy pedal, we recommend the StopTech parts:

Drive safe! :)

Thanks for that. I was actually looking at the Goodridge ones on your site, any reason why they command a premium over Stoptech? I have no plans to track the car, but still want a solid braking system

Hey hummm,

Just joined the FORUM today, I'm in Langtoft so not too far from you.  Did you manage to find a good trusted Z shop nearby?

Love your picture, black is definitely the colour for a Z in my opinion :)

Cheers,

Andy

Hello! Your zed looks great! Just reminds me that I need to restore my headlights :D

Cougar in Leicester is probably the closest specialist to us, and I've heard only great things about them. Unfortunately when I spoke to them they explained they had had problems with their ramp being out of action (now resolved) and so had a backlog of work, the earliest they could fit me in was mid December.

I messaged another user on here in Peterborough with a 370z and he recommended C.A.R.S on papyrus road, they're not exactly a specialist but he says they do good work. I'm planning to speak with them tomorrow and I'll let you know how it goes

Thanks, love the Zed.  Guy I bought it from had spent a lot of money on it which I'm now enjoying :p

Many years ago I used to have a 1990 E34 M5 (3.6 litre straight 6) which I used TWG motorsport (Longthorpe) and they were excellent.  I know they are mainly German specialists but I've emailed them today to see if they would work on a Zed too.  Will let you know.

BTW - How do you restore the headlights?  I need to as well.

Welcome fellow P-bog-horror (ha) owner(s), maybe see you around :)

Headlights can be done numerous ways, from a kit that uses wipes to a kit that uses cutting compound and a drill polishing adapter and various things in between.

I favour t-cut and a bit of elbow grease ;)

Out of interest, do you get them serviced locally?
