I havent had a chance to do anything to the car recently, but managed to get my hands on a Stillen CAI off ebay. This links in very nicely to my Stillen CBE.

It was actually easier to fit than i thought it would be, and extending the holes for the piping out of the engine bay was actually very simple.

All i can say is im blown away by the results. I was just running a stock intake without decent panel filters, which is why i guess im noticing this improvement.

The throttle response feels improved and its definitely a bit quicker. It feels like its breathing and flowing very well. And there is definitely more of a growl when you floor it and more suction intake noise.

Anyway, here are some pictures:

Another little project while i had some time off for Easter. I wanted to respray the silver door handles to match the anthracite alloys.

The finish has actually come off really good and the colour match is nearly perfect.

This next update is a big one. I managed to pick up an official Nismo front bumper on Ebay. These are extremely rare to find used, so i jumped on it straight away.

It did have some of the accessories/plastics missing and a few bits of damage, however i was able to source/fix most of them myself.

Im so so happy with it, and have been after one of these since i got the car. Being a genuine Nissan part, both the colour and fitment was perfect.

As i have no red on the car, i sprayed the red accents anthracite grey to match the wheels and door handles, and sprayed the badges and side repeaters at the same time.

I mocked up some blanking plates for the DRL holes, and will hopefully have my own DIY DRLS there shortly.

Much prefer the black accents over the red, good work

Next update involved me taking the new bumper back off again

I decided to make my own DRLs, as the inserts were there for them anyway. And i was not going to pay either £1,200 or £350 for the two variants of buyable ones.

So i purchased some eagle eye LEDs and got measuring and drilling into my custom made inserts.

They have come out brilliantly, if i do say so myself, and they come on and off with the ignition. They cost me about £15, but took a lot of time and effort

Smart!! I'm not normally a fan of putting turbo or GTi bumpers on a non turbo or GTi model car etc (similar to M3 M5 badges on a 320i) but that does look damn good.

Thanks! I do agree if it is badged as a performance/trim level that it isnt. However, i have taken off the Nismo badge and filled in the holes, as i have no intention of making people think its a Nismo. I just love the bumper itself haha

Ok so i have an unexpected big update...

I made the mistake of looking on ebay and just couldnt say no to this gem.

I found a genuine Nissan Nismo rear spoiler shipped from Japan (still in its box) already factory painted in my QAB colour code.

The japanese (and i believe US) model V1 Nismos dont have the black accents all around the skirts and boot spoiler like the UK models do. Which works better with my car anyway.

My current spoiler is not quite the same colour as the body, so i suspected it was replaced/added at some point, however i was not expecting it to have been fitted with this sealant stuff all over the boot which was an incredible pain to get the spoiler off and then clean the ridiculous mess it left. However eventually i got there!

Im so happy with it and being a genuine part the colour and fitment is spot on!

You got your spoiler from the same guy I did . I decided that the spoiler doesn’t suit the stock rear bumper so bought a Nismo rear bumper as well but now want to get the Nismo front bumper to complement the rear. Would you mind telling me if there are holes in the Nismo front bumper to bolt in the three front impact sensors ? On the stock sport bumper they bolt behind the number plate plinth area and behind each of the brake duct vent covers (next to the fangs). As the Nismo bumper is very different to the sport it got me wondering where you bolt those sensors. Hope you can help. Here’s what your car would look like with the Nismo  rear bumper (oh and Nismo wheels)

Ah nice. Yeh im keeping my eyes on ebay for a rear bumper. Either a V1 or V2, but preferably a V2. I dont want to mess around with painting it as the pearl white is apparently really difficult to colour match, and my OCD wont cope if its not right  So looking for one already factory painted.

Im impressed you have preempted that, as i did not  There are not holes that i could see, so i unscrewed the sensors from the grill plastic on the old bumper, left them all wired up (as it causes all sorts of error lights that just wont go away if you unplug them apparently), and have just bolted/cable tied them where i can. I found the front crash bar struts the best place. I should have taken a pic, but didnt think before i put the bumper back on. I have got not error lights, and they are all sitting secure, so all good.

That picture is just making me want to find a Nismo rear bumper as soon as possible! Looks great!

Very nice ride David..

may i ask how difficult to remove door handles?

looking at getting mine wrap somewhere..

Thanks

Thanks! Theoretically, they arent difficult at all to remove, however mine had a couple of little niggles.

The main bit is easy and its just undoing the two main bolts in the side of the door. That lets the handles loose. Once the handles are half out, you have to reach in to the door to unplug the harness, which was not easy to get to! But i got there eventually after some scratched hands. The drivers door also has the mechanical key turn metal rod to pop off, which is easy to come off, but very fiddly to snap back on again. Again i got there eventually.

Its easy enough to do, it just requires some patience for the more fiddly bits.

This is the youtube video i used which helped a lot:
