Grrrr, windscreen trim/seals stuck in Japan for 5 weeks

So 5 weeks ago got a 10inch crack in screen which is ever growing.

My insurers supplier made a right meal out of getting the 3 bits of trim & seals I picked up from another thread on here you must replace, after a week they asked for excess in advance before they would order them.

Screen arrived from Amsterdam 3 weeks ago, the trim & seals are stuck on a container in Japan until it's full, can I get them to authorize posting, no!!  Container not left yet, shipping must be 3 weeks +.

Mot booked in 2 weeks time, it'll fail, more importantly, setting off for Le Mans in exactly 4 weeks, grrrrrrr.

  • 3 weeks later...

Update, couldn't make it up really nut after 9 weeks we're there.

Turns out they had the 3 trim bits & screen for weeks, mysteriously they had ordered a 4th & 5th part at $200 each, ouch, not needed & still in Japan.

Sooo, new screen fitted yesterday, new trim bits, no broken A pillars, all looks good & more importantly we're not going to Le Mans in our shed.

Tell me about it. !!!!

Mine was on the Passenger side, not sure for the new MOT system, but the old one, I believe it is ok if not blocking drivers vision.

I had a crack in my windscreen early January, it was only fixed on 23rd May !!!!!!!

I too paid my excess in January !!!!!!!!! Grgh !

The fix also came after after my Europe Road Trip to Monaco in early May.

Worst was, Autoglass booked the job four times !!

A tad frustrating.

All done now, hope you get yours fixed soon.
