Marty's black 370z

Alright so I want to use this thread to document the changes to my 370z!

Background:

I was looking for a fun weekend toy. Daily driver is a '17 BMW 330 so I am already quite spoiled regarding performance/quality and was looking for something that would offer me a complete different driving experience. After shortlisting four cars being 1) GT-R R33, 2) Cayman S, 3) Subaru BRZ and 4) 370z, the 370 won my heart with it's looks, V6 engine and revmatching function combined with quite a modern look and feel.

Sourcing the right car:

The 370z is quite a rare car in the Netherlands,  about 10 are sold new from the dealers every year due to their high price (€100.000 for a non-nismo manual), and used ones go for €30.000/€35.000. So I decided to look at the German market: more choice and lower prices. After finding a fully documented 2010 pack edition with persimmon leather and just 74.000km - i bought the car.

Goals:

So for 2018 I want to make the car look exactly the way I want. After that, I will look for more power, probably through a Stillen SC kit. The goal will be 450bhp at the engine, so say around 400 at the wheels.

Modifcations:

Although the overall condition is good, my first changes will be:

Exterior:

  • Respray rear bumper: the PDC sensors have been removed but the job wasn't done professionally: DONE
  • Respray rear trunk lid: i removed the rear screen wiper so will have this cleaned and resprayed: DONE
  • Respray door handles: I like a blacked out look and will respray the door handles to magnetic black: DONE
  • Powdercoat the silver 19 inch Rays to NISMO anthracite: DONE
  • Replace the stock spoiler with a NISMO spoiler: DONE
  • Tint the windows to aid the blacked-out look: DONE

Interior:

  • Steering rack modification in order to move the steering wheel +- 2,5" my way for a better driving position: DONE
  • Fit Paul's rear view camera kit: ORDERED

Performance:

  • Fitted new rear tires. I went with Hankook Evo S2 285/35/19: DONE

I got the spoiler from a company called "The Spoiler Company" on eBay.

Fitment requires 2 extra holes in the spoiler (which you can easily access through the trunk lid with a self-fastening screw) and some kit.  Im very satisfied.

No mate, i paid a specialised company a little over 700 pounds for it. They had to weld up new steering rack brackets and a new "steering rod" (i dont know the correct name in english, the long steel tube that connects the steering wheel down the cockpit)

@nissanjuke it's really worth the money. I love my car so much more after this modification.

I did some work on detailing my car this weekend. This is how it turned out:

2 step paint correction:

- Dodo juice spin doctor rotary polisher / orange pad / Monello Veloce compound

- 900 watt excentric polisher /white pad / Monello Finale finishing polish

I'm really happy with this! Next mods:

- Install rearview camera

- Install red GTR start button

- Have the doorhandles repainted again

- Fit new black Z emblems front and back

nice work, looking at doing these items myself and fitting some sport cats and then getting a nice tune-up, but alas we have heavy snow again here in Scotland, my car has sat for 7 days outside and battery powers all my controls in the car but won't start it  :angry:
