Nürburgring June '18

I didn't get there last year due to health issues.

I'd love to go this year, around August?

I had everything booked except for ferry. When I enquired a week before going, a ticket had jumped to over £500 for just me and the car. So getting this sorted as soon as possible would be really beneficial to those of us interested.

Avoid Hotel Am Tiergarten. They tried to charge me saying that I checked in and stayed there for 2 days. I cancelled well in advance. When I questioned their security and the fact they let 2 people to sign in and stay under my name with no ID, they stopped chasing me.

I didn't organise the trip last year. Personally I'd prefer to drive down to the tunnel then up through France. But I can understand most would prefer a shorter trip.

Soooo...anyone?

Iv gone in August for the last 2 years... driven down to tunnel then accross Belgium instead of France (no tolls and better roads and scenery) I'm going again this year but in June.

I were going to ask if people were thinking of going at a similar time also... it's sods law the time I decide not to go in August theres possibly a few people going lol

If you fancy going in June instead I'll happily join you,

although I'm going to be there on a Wed, thurs, Fri, where the track is only open 5 till 7 30 each day.

If its your 1st time going I'd say its safer driving the ring during the week as there aren't as many people on the track so you get more open road and don't have to worry about other people, but you can't beat the busy booming atmosphere of a Sunday where its open 8am till 7 30.

A few thing to consider when your there... spa do a 25 min for €100 public driving session once a month, also the ring GP track do tourist sessions 15mins for one lap ticket, so try and be there around them days maybe so you try them tracks out.. I highly reccomend both spa and the ring GP track..

If you want any info or reccomendations of things just me know

I was going to go 14th 15th 16th but the tourist days are not on that weekend because of the classic gp and nearly all the hotels nearby are booked up and are a lot more expensive over that weekend.

I decided to go to the ring a week earlier then I'm going into Switzerland and staying near interlaken for 4 days to go on the mountain passes. Then going down via Monaco along the Riviera to the south of France for 4 days, then back up via bordoux for 3 nights then to calais and home

Have you booked a hotel at the ring already?? And had a look at on the ring website at their schedule??

Me and my girlfriend, I've asked my mates that are into to cars but none of them fancy it, supose I'm lucky to have a girl who's like cars and doesn't mind going on holiday to a race track lol

Your more than welcome to come along with us though, it would be nice to have some male company aswell haha.

Ill be getting a 6am euro tunnel train on Wednesday morning and driving straight there, so I'll be at the ring at about 12 midday on the Wednesday and leaving Saturday morning about 10 am to go to Switzerland.

If you have time you, I would really suggest taking a drive up/down the Col De Turini. It's a little bit North of Monaco - incredible stretch of road. The wife and I did a euro roadtrip a few years ago - on leaving Monaco heading to Italy we made a detour to the Col De Turini. Totally worth it.

Also, get up early one day in Monaco and do a few laps of the circuit :D We checked out of the hotel around 05:30 just to get some photos, then headed out of town.

Here's the old Zed outside the Casino :)

I very possibly might do. Thanks. Do you know how many miles it'd be in total?

My total journey will be about 2500miles clitheroe (where I live) and back to clitheroe.

It's 600ish mile to the ring from north west England where I'm staying for 3 days, it will be my 3rd time there B) then about 6 hours from the ring to grindelwald near interlaken in Switzerland where im staying for 4 days, then 8 hours drive to south france (via monaco for 3 hours) to Argeles where I'm staying with my parents for 4 days, then 7 hours to la Rochelle where I'm staying with a freind for 3 days. Then 7 hours back to Calais for 1 night in an f1 hotel then back home.

That's my schedule anyway, ring and Switzerland for amazing driving and south france for sunny beaches haha. Theres quite abit of driving between stops but I'm thinking if i set off at 8 or 9am ish I can be at the next stop by 2 or 3 in the afternoon. iv booked hotels at the ring and Switzerland already.

Like I say you can come along with us no problem at all, Although I don't think youl fit in the boot of my zed lol so will have to drive yourself, I'm hoping you'd be bringing your turboed beast? :teeth:

You could always just come to the ring with us and Switzerland for the mountain passes if you were up for it? It depends on your budget and things really.

If you do decide to Join us for any of the trip I'll let you know exactly where I'm staying and prices of things etc (food, hotels, eurotunnel) to give you a better idea what it might cost you.

Yeah sure. Makes sense with being so local.

Yeah it's fine. It's in the garage but it's all done. Was overheating and exhaust was blowing which turned out to be the flexi's and I just left it in there and told them to sort ALL the niggles. Oh and banana arm.

All good now.

Was planning my first trip to N'bring as part of a eurotrip to Budapest and Munich I'm going on in May. Couldn't work out a good date to visit though as it's close to 24hr nurburgring race weekend.

Also had to pass on a trip to Monaco in my buddy's 991 GT3 in April as it's too close to the other trip...that was painful!
