Hi,

£10,000

£9,500

£8,950

For sale is my 2007 (56 Plate) 3.6 TDV8 Range Rover Sport diesel, in black with ivory leather.

MOT until 26th March 2019.

120k miles.

The car has 3 former keepers (i'm the 4th).

This car isn't to be confused with the more common 2.7 Diesel - i've owned one of those too in the past, and the 3.6 is a much better car.  It's very rapid with approx 270bhp and 640nm of torque

This is the top spec HSE model so includes heated seats, Sat Nav, 4x4 info screen, heated front windscreen, fridge, dynamic cruise control (set distance to car in front and it will maintain the gap).  It also has the optional 20" alloy wheels, side steps, black door handles and a tow bar.

This car achieves 26mpg on average, or 30mpg on a long motorway run.

Bad bits:

  • Occasional clunk from underneath the front - LR specialist garage says this is a normal noise for this model as it has the active anti-roll bar and these do make a noise. Not sure I agree with that but wanted to mention it. Now repaired.
  • Parking sensors not working - it requires a £40 part and 1 hour labour to fix (can be done DIY too). Now repaired.

Other than the above, the car is in very good condition.  The bodywork is excellent with no scratches/dings/rust etc.  The wheels would benefit from a refurb as all have some curbing, but no corrosion.

I've been as honest as possible as i don't want to waste people's time.

I've just spent £720 replacing both EGR's on this today, to clear up the rough idle fault it has been suffering.

Didn't really want to be spending any money on this whilst i'm enjoying a 3 month sabbatical from work.:headhurt:

Advert and price updated accordingly.

Guys, any tips on how to sell my Range please?  I've had it on Auto Trader, Piston Heads, eBay and i've not had a sniff.  It's been up for sale on and off for over 6 months, i've probably spent about £180 advertising it.

I've had it for sale at a lower price than this too and still no interest at all (i was worried the low price was putting people off).

Here's the current AT add. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201801112655911?maximum-mileage=200000&year-to=2010&minimum-badge-engine-size=3.5&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&make=LAND ROVER&sort=price-asc&radius=40&advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=st86bw&model=RANGE ROVER SPORT&fuel-type=Diesel&page=1

There are cheaper RRS's out there, but within 50 miles of me i'm about the 5th cheapest out of cars with my spec.

Summer is normally a really bad time to sell cars. People usually buy new cars around August/Sep time.
Range Rovers are everywhere nowadays as well, and people normally don't want to run a big V8, moreover a Diesel V8 nowadays.

I think you'll be more successful around winter time, but selling a car like that is hit and miss, it just takes a long time if they're are loads about.
I think I sold my S14 after 8 days? My friend has had his M3 up for sale for 6 Months with no luck. It's just the nature of supply and demand.

Honestly, If you're looking for a fast sale, and you don't mind putting in leg work, swap it for something like an S15, Supra, something of similar value, but uncommon, you'll get phonecalls within a day.
