I find on my Nismo that the boot works fine if the parcel cover is retracted. If the parcel cover is fastened in place, onto the hatch, then the boot does not work. Strange but true...

I will have to test that out. How weird.

You have to double click the Nismo boot however the penny trick fixes the problem mate.

Sounds like that will be the solution. But I think Nissan need to put some effort in first. If all of us complained maybe they would get their finger out their bum! Lol

Update time:

Took the car to Westway Nissan Hanwell (biggest mistake ever).  The car had three issues, the boot, wind noise from the drivers side window at any speed over 60 and the USB didn't charge my phone.

I dropped the car off, they looked around it and found nothing wrong apart from a little scuff on one of the wheels.  This was marked down.  They gave me a Juke as a courtesy, which made a change for a micra lol!

On return to Nissan, they had washed my car and cleaned inside which was nice of them.  They fixed the wind noise issue, said the boot was no longer a problem (i think when you open and close is numerous times in a row, the problem goes away), although it re-appeared only a day later and they said the USB issue was not an issue as they tried with various phones and it worked fine :/

He never mentioned anything else, I was happy to get the car back, jumped in and drove down the road to Currys PC World, about 30mins later i go to get back in the car and notice a Scratch on the roof!!! i was furious to say the least so went straight back.  The "Service Adviser" advised that any damage would be marked on the service job card and he would let me know on monday as the service guys had gone home.

I then drove home and on further inspection saw another scratch on the drivers side side skirt, needless to say i was not happy,  I took snaps of both and sent a massive complaint to Nissan GB.

on the monday i called Hanwell to find out what had been recorded.  He said the scratch had been recorded on the job card.  He said after washing the car the service dept record any damage again!

This is utter rubbish.   If you washed the car and found a scratch would you not let the customer know as soon as it was discovered? this is a near enough brand new motor!!!

i then informed him of the second scratch and guess what??? it wasn't recorded anywhere.  Whats to say they didn't amned the job card retrospectively??

anyway, long story short, Nissan GB said they can't do anything as they have no power over the Dealers.  So i have now written to the Motor Ombudsmen.

Oh.. and the funniest thing about it all? I paid nearly £500 for Scratch proof paint!!!!

I do really like the car overall, as a drivers car it is great.  Lacks a bit of power, but handling is amazing!

Other niggles i have found:

Gearbox still makes noise when releasing the clutch quick at low speed (Mainly 1st and 2nd Gear)

when clutch is up there is a slight whine, when depressed it goes.  Sounds like clutch bearing is noisy, has anyone else experienced this?

The mirrors do not autofold when locking the car, how useless! Qashquis do it, Jukes do it, even f-in micras do it! but does a top of the range 370?? no!!

Really gutting to hear about your experience with the dealer mate. I had a brand new fiesta ST before my zed and on 2 occasions it got scratched whilst in possession of a dealer for warranty/servicing so know exactly how you feel, its infuriating

After that I learnt 3 things-

1. Unless you absolutely have to, try and avoid going to a dealer.

2. If you can't avoid it then make sure you have a good look around the car with a member of staff before AND after the work so there can't be any doubt when any damage was done.

3. Request that they don't wash your car. The people they're employing to wash your pride and joy are probably on minimum wage so won't give a f**k about it.

And don`t forget no memory positions on the electric seats (why the hell wouldn`t they have that?) and no auto dimming rear view mirror!

My RCZ was better equipped and £10k less. (But 130bhp down so I can live with the lack of equipment).

Hi All,

Been a long time since i posted on here, i am very disappointed with Nissan, but like the car so will have to work with the tossers.  They have denied all responsibility for the scratches, but i need to go and see them about the "Scratch Proof" Paint i was sold as a £500 option???

Its supposed to be nissan scratch shield, so then why do i have scratches at all!

Anyway, on a lighter note, i am making an attempt at creating my own youtube channel, and my first video is an overview of the 370z.  Have a look and let me know what you think.  I know i need some more action shots, but need to find some good roads around where i am, and also need some better weather.  Anyway, enough of the excuses lol!

I got a tracker as soon as I bought mine in august 2017. Sold it in July 2018. As needed to buy a house. Looking at getting one again in future. They also washed mine twice. You need a sign taped to the windshield saying "no wash". My colleague who owns a near new Bentley does this. I only had a valet wash my car or i washed it myself with two bucket soak. Any scratches I got one on the roof wasnt caused by me but by a dealer or vandals. Which is why I stuck with White. Harder to spot hairline scratches. Also if it gets stolen its an obvious standout.

When I sold the car. Tracker were calling me frequently to say the car was lifted off the ground and moved etc. I reminded them ive now sold the car.

I paid 26k for mine 5 months old and 3k miles. Steal of the century. Regret selling. Soon as I sold I came across a white one near my gym . Spoke to the owner for like 15 minutes and it was a tough one to take seeing his. But needs must. I have a white CRZ now. Cost me nothing.

I had an idea to de ja vu, get a 350z for 2 years then upgrade to the Nismo. But thought no point better off getting the 370 now for 2 -3 years maybe not a nismo and get a 350 after. Then look at any new model that comes.
