Using a clay bar is such a light, delicate process I don't understand why you would need the pressure or mechanical advantage of a polisher. A clay bar requires no force by hand and a simple well lubricated gliding action to gently lift contamination from the paint. I see doing so with a polisher would only create marring to the paint. Using a clay bar on paint is only to be done if necessary, if you can feel contamination and know the car hasn't been cleaned correctly then yes clay the paint prior to polishing.
