The wife's sister has just given here an older Vauxhall Astra as a learner car, ......BUT its been used to transport a dog and has hardly ever been cleaned, add to that she was a smoker, so you can imagine the state of it. She has given it all a good repeated scrub, i removed the seats as well, but the plastics are still ingrained with dirt despite repeated tries, the same goes for the seats and carpets, stain's etc. So i wanted to ask if anyone could suggest a cleaner colour restorer to get the plastic back to black/grey black, and something that will shift the stubborn stains, that's not going to cost the silly money that some of the valeting products command? Hot water Scrubbing brush Lots of microfibres Ideally a wet extraction vac Plastics resto if pigment has gone will only ever be temporary Decent APC or fairy liquid if nothing else Hot water Scrub brush Magic sponge (decent quality) Lots of microfibres A steam cleaner if possible Trim ultra technically does restore some colour and dries like a varnish but its trade only ans recommended for exterior only CSP prestige interior dressing is good Try to avoid silicone based products. ilogikal1 Posted October 22, 2016 Share Posted October 22, 2016 For cleaning the plastics, a magic sponge (unless they're gloss then don't use that! ) and a mild dilution of APC to clean. To dress would depend on what sort of finish you want, some people actually like that horrible shiny finish.... Fabrics, HubiKote fabric cleaner is very good.
