How 'honest' is everybody

On the subject of innocently not declaring mods, it's about reasonableness as well. For example, would you expect 80 year old Doris to know that her 1.0L Micra didn't come with 15" BBS wheels from the factory? No, of course not. Would you expect Barry who's been into the modifying scene for years and is on every owner's club to know that the 6" exhaust on his Impreza isn't stock? Yes, that's perfectly reasonable.

So pretty much any one on here has no excuse

Has Barry got a build thread we can check and come up with a complete answer? We just need to check on the coilovers and the diff... since you mentioned Doris, too...

Build threads are great for finding out stuff. A mate of mine was looking at an Astra VXR the other year. He found a lovely example of one for sale, low miles, history sounded good. However, through the powers of google he found a build thread on an Astra forum for a guy who had bought a written off Astra VXR and rebuilt it. Apparently it had to be rejigged and all sorts and the guy had endless problems trying to fix the car up and getting it working properly. Anyway, turned out it was the same car.

I would suggest the only difficult modification to note would be say an uprev (350z specific), granted it usually is accompanied with exhaust, filter and plenum spacer, but how would you find out, except for taking it to a specialist to check, so would you be responsible for doing this if you genuinely didnt know?

When I switched the insurance from the zed to the jaaaag ..... I gave them every single option that I added to the car

They have no excuse now if I wreck it

And it cost me £46 which included the £26 admin fee

No brainer
