Seems like they have fairly mixed reviews online and your comments are not uncommon http://www.cardealerreviews.co.uk/dealership/essex-prestige-harlow-essex-england so would hate to say it sounds like you got a bit of a challenge on your hands dealing with them from a professional stand point.

Follow Dans (Ekona's) advice and start getting things written down and create a paper trail.

Payco.... I make you 100% right.

So I went to collect the car and see 'victor' face to face, surprisingly he wasn't there!

Started the car and it sounded exactly the same as before,a noise that all 3 of his staff couldn't deny!

Coincidentally Nissan main dealer phoned me at the same time 'vincent' phoned his staff member I was with.

Finally spoke to vincent and he's agreed to let me choose an independent mechanical check near to my home to resolve the issue or take car back depending on the outcome.

Thought I might actually be getting somewhere until I clicked on the above link from coldel 😂 cheers mateðŸ‘😂

I'm gonna find someone for an opinion and see what to do from there, hoping it's nothing serious and gets sorted as I really don't want to return the car,but if I must, I will......very reluctantly as I'm loving the zed's

Sorry pal - I think in many cases so many stories of dealers basically trying to wriggle out of their responsibilities as a car trader by acting in a way to undermine the buyer. Stick to your guns, don't get abusive with them, know your rights and get what you should get from it.

It does seem like they try wriggling out of things judging from the reviews and the first phone call yesterday.

Funnily enough the attitude completely changed when I turned up in a rage looking for him, probably as his staff member relayed what I had said 😀

Tt350...we think along the same lines mate, but for the moment I've gotta try the calm approach (for a change)

FFS don't try and be a hero by turning up and yelling expletives at people. You just make yourself look a prize tool, which could also lead to the police being called and then any credibility you have if it goes to court to claim a refund is shot. It's literally the most stupid thing you can do.

Personally, unless the report says that the noise is something daft like a heatshield then I'd be rejecting regardless, this doesn't sound like either a company I want to deal with nor a car I'd want to suffer with.

Ekona that's exactly what I don't wanna do because the outcome will be what you say, unfortunately controlling my temper isn't easy... I'll have to take my Mrs with me to keep me in check 😂

I hate this ... Too many times this goes on. Hope they get both barrels and no more than they deserve. Praying you get the response you want. :)

And I hate to say it .......... but its probably down to too many people not exercising their rights. Theres a guy on one of the the BMW forums atm who has just bought a dealer car and found it was running on 4, whining from the oil filter, hadnt been serviced despite dealer promising it had and also had a snapped spring.

Hes getting it all fixed himself as he got £1000 off what it should have cost. Mental.

Hope you get this resolved to your satisfaction. As Dan says go down the correct channels and stay calm even though it isn't an easy thing to do. Watching this with interest hoping you get the resolution your deserve and can then start to enjoy these great cars and the great forum we have here. :boxing:

So I just left my local Nissan dealership, they had a quick look and at first they said it is a bit of a characteristic noise of a 350z (this was a sales rep)

mechanic had a listen and recommended an oil and filter change as first thing to do incase the wrong oil was used (prior to service it was quiet) and as it seems quieter when cold.they also pointed out a slight click coming from rear drive shafts that would need addressing at some point...

On the plus side he let me have a sneaky peak at the brand new 2017 gtr, looking very tough indeed

Got her booked in for Wednesday at Nissan, fingers crossed it'll be ok with the oil change as I'm falling more in love with her every day and I'm itching to fit a nice exhaust and change the colour of my black wheels.

Anyone else got the dark silver/grey colour with decent wheels,I'm looking for some inspiring pics to help me choose what colour to change them to

There are two Silver options

Dark silver = Gunmetal

Light silver = Blade Silver

Black always goes well with silver but its also not very unique. A textbook example would be black wing mirrors, door handles and roof :teeth:

You can check my build thread for what a blade silver looks like. I think there is a specific thread on here for gunmetal owners.

Edit

Thanks Randy baton, mine is the gunmetal colour, had a look at that link you posted and it looks like there's a zed (the one with the wiggly font number plate) that has my wheels or very similar but in a different colour combo that I think looks perfect 👌

Quick question....as mine is going into Nissan for an oil change in the morning what grade oil do you knowledgeable lot recommended..... I know it's supposed to be fully synthetic 5w 30 but I saw a post on Facebook earlier saying Nissan recommend 3 different oil grades?

Also from the comments I read people were suggesting a part synthetic 10 w 30/40 with m6 kind of mileage (74-75k).....any suggestions?

A *decent* fully synth 5w30 would be my choice too. By which I mean not sh*tty Magnatec

I'm not aware of any VQ engines with higher mileage that have shown themselves to require a slightly thicker grade of oil. You may wish to use a 5w40 if you're FI or it seems excessively tappity, but it's not a requirement.

Oil change done with the 5w 30 at Nissan,

Had a listen to it was still a slight tapping noise but after giving it a few revs and 20 mins run its quietened down a lot more than it was sounding.

Had the gtr specialist listen to it and they were kind enough to park a 54 reg with only 34k next to mine and they sound very similar.he says it sounds like all other 350's he's worked on.

So hopefully that's problem solved, gonna see how it goes for a couple of days

One of the fuel dampers has vibration compared to the other so maybe that might need a change at some point but it seems an easy enough job to tackle myself and not expensive either.

Gotta say the service I received from Glyn hopkin Romford was absolutely spot on and their man Adam on the service desk is a diamond

And so it continues......

Had a few extra issues appear with the car now..

intermittently sticking rear caliper.

creaking from front passenger side when turning steering.

noticed a buckle on the dish of the rear wheel (causing vibration at around 70mph which I thought was balancing).

Exhaust rattling.

Intermittent cam chain rattle.

Clicking rear axle.

Still getting the top end knocking but not as bad.

Decided enough was enough and tried returning the car today, unsurprisingly the boss 'victor' wasn't there,I ended up waiting around for 3 hours for him to get back to me his solution was as follows....we want to take the car to another garage to carry out an assessment and price for work needed to see if warranty will cover the costs,if it's too expensive then a refund may be issued but minus an admin fee and cost of warranty!!

I calmly explained this was the 4th time

I'd been back to them, they had the car for 8 days without doing a single thing to it,I've already lost 3 days self employed work in total £600,paid out £100 for oil change, fuel for 4 80 mile round trips and can't be left without a vehicle again for however long.after getting a loads of lies excuses and attitude they've agreed to supply a courtesy car and come collect my vehicle but reckon all the other issues are part of buying an old car and will not be fixed, also tried proposing I've had the car too long so they have no obligation to honour anything,so I reminded him I phoned with the issue the very next day after purchase which pauses my '30' day period.

Looks like this is gonna become very messy, long winded and expensive. Also very very hard to reign in my temper as I'm getting increasingly annoyed with their attitude and bullshitting.

Does anyone have any good links for legal advice?
