Lowering my zed help!

I want to lower the 350z a bit, not slam it, just fancy a little drop with springs to loose the arch gap.

I have 20'' rims which pretty much come in line with arches without spacers, and the front arches have been rolled by a previous owner.

On the back there is plenty of room to drop it, but on the front its around 35mm, without anyone in.

So, is it safe to lower it down, say, 20mm, and would it firm it up with better springs, minimize the chance of drop when someones in it?

I know its a stupid noob question but I have never done suspension.

Heres a photo of the wheel turned. I obviously would like it to do this after its lowered lol

Stiffer springs will mean that there is less suspension travel, although you always run the risk of a bit of rubbing with extreme lock when turning or going over big bumps. Teins are about the best for small drops (~18mm from memory) or you can get Eibachs which are around 30mm.

At 30mm you may need to be looking at toe bolts and camber arms as well as the drop will put the wheels outside of Nissan camber tolerances. You also may need some camber to bring the wheels inside the arches with the lower ride height. There are also speed bumps etc. to think about! :)

yes well my car is now a secondary and only really for work (only 10 minutes away) so speed bumps, long distance comfort etc don't really matter, its more for looks now!

What is the lowest you can drop within Nissans camber tolerances?

This thing drove to where its parked:

So the short answer is youre miles away from having any problems, you can pretty much tuck the front wheel under the arch before it will start catching on lock. Mine ran pretty low:

but it got even lower on track:

and still didnt ever rub :)

Ive run driftcars even lower and although chassis rails and diffs would occasionally touch Ive never had a problem with wheels on front arches.

Speedbumps wont make any difference unless your planning on hitting them at 40mph as well

Did it manage UK to Le Mans at this ride height too? Thought I recognized the car from my old facebook pics :)
