No its not mine

My parents picked up a brand new hyundai last thursday under motorbility

They went out for a drive yesterday afternoon and someone pulled out of their driveway (single track lane) straight into the side of them ......... apparently no panel damage other than paintwork down the side (a side swipe)

so, do they just contact their own insurance and leave it to them, contact other party insurance or allow the other party to just pay the bill for the re-spray

Technically they should inform their insurers of any accident. However doing that will mean a raise in premiums even if they end up not claiming at all, because insurance.

If they can avoid it, settle privately and don't involve insurers. If going through the insurance, inform your own insurers, pass on the third party's details and let them do what you pay them for.
